Some balance thoughts

<div class="IPBDescription">my $0.02 on b180</div>Hi, Ive been playing NS2 for about 3 weeks now and after playing and talking with players on pub servers and watching Ns2HD's vids, I thought I'd weigh in with a few simple adjustments that could be considered.

1. The Marine Weapon costs could be adjusted to 20 res for Shotgun, 25 for GL and 30 for FT.

- Many players remark that the shotgun is too cheap for say the early part of the game . With the recently added feature of picking up the dropped shotguns it does feel as though Marine teams are permanently armed with shotguns. Whilst this is fine during the mid and end stages of matches when Fades are more prevalent, the current low cost shotguns give the Marines an advantage over low armored skulks at the start of the game. Going from 15 to 20 res in my opinion will cut back the shotgun use slightly in the early and mid game which can only be a good thing.

- The GL is fine and I only suggest an adjustment from 20 to 25 res to reduce the spam at bit. I've played a few games recently where an armory is placed outside the Hive area and 3-4 marines will grenade spam and a stalemate ensues. Whilst this will still happen at 25 res, if it cuts back the amount of marines grenading by 1 or 2 it might reduce these stalemate battles a bit.

- The FT is fine where it is. Although It would be great if the Dev's could prioritize the fixing up of the ammo count of the FT as I find this one of the most frustrating things about the game at the moment.


Also I feel there would be no harm in increasing the res cost of sentries from 10 to 15 res. Again, if this cuts back the sentry spam slightly(especially when turtling) it can only be a good thing for game balance.

    I'd keep the weapons at the current cost and drastically reduce shotgun damage against structures. The shotgun should be either good against aliens units or structures, but not both. IMO the axe should do more damage vs structures than the shotgun.
