Weapon Switching/skill Switching

Seriously.. I hate to have to press the fire button. every other game makes it DIRECT. It screws up my Tribes etc. I missfire a lot now ;/ (cause I autofire to make weapons "switch"

is there a way to have them on autoswitch once 1-5 are pressed? I thought CS had it this way

Yes, it should be under the configuration... somewhere.

Multiplayer -> Custom -> Advanced Options maybe?

The correct command is hud_fastswitch 1. Very handy.

I use this: (autoswitch for the mouse wheel and the keyboard)

    hud_fastswitch 1
bind mwheeldown "invnext; +attack; wait; -attack"
bind mwheelup "invprev; +attack; wait; -attack"

Doesn't hud_fastswitch do all the things in the alias anyway?

Sorry for being kinda slow... but what does hud_fastswitch actually do?

fastswitch makes it so when you push weapon1 or 2 or such, the weapon is drawn automatically, as opposed to the default, where it displays the weapon on the HUD and you push fire to confirm that weapon <!--emo&::asrifle::--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/asrifle.gif' border='0' valign='absmiddle' alt='asrifle.gif'><!--endemo--> <!--emo&::gorge::--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/pudgy.gif' border='0' valign='absmiddle' alt='pudgy.gif'><!--endemo-->

You know that weapon menu that appears when you try to switch weapons, and you have to press fire to select it? It gets rid of that and your weapon switches automatically. Quite handy.

However (moot point in NS) if you are in a game with multiple weapons per category, say, CS or default HL, the number key toggles through the weapons. It only switches immediately if there is only one weapon choice.

So if you theoretically had two pistols as two weapons, you would hit 2 and click to select the first one, and hit 2 twice and click to select the second one, even with fastswitch on.

It worked that way for cs (grenades).

    But many other games its

2 (1st pistol comes out) 2 (2nd pistol comes out)
