<div class="IPBDescription">YES PLEASE!</div>Let this be the official petition to get ns_summit into the next possible beta :D

<a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lVy29AtahB4" target="_blank">ns_summit (video)</a>
<a href="http://www.clorf.com/privatespace/nerdish/ns2_summit_b1.zip" target="_blank">Download</a>

I think it's a different style of map in many ways than what we have currently, and it'd be good to get this in there to help form the game-play as it evolves in the beta.

So reply if you agree :D

But why do you need it to be official?

Just go download the damned thing from the mappers forum and join a server that's hosting it.

Love to see it in subsequent patches, but it doesn't quite seem ready for release. Be patient.

Holy crap, further funding idea for UW, in-game purchasing of Gorge hats via Steam Wallet, YES PLEASE! :P

(Since it appears we will never get our Gorge Plushies... and yes UW, we do ACTUALLY want them ;) )

So far there's been roughly 1,500 downloads of summit. Which is impressive and nice.

Rather than direct people to the mapping forum to download, add the url to your first post Wavesonics to help get it out there for psyk0man. It's <a href="http://www.clorf.com/privatespace/nerdish/ns2_summit_b1.zip" target="_blank">http://www.clorf.com/privatespace/nerdish/ns2_summit_b1.zip</a>

Yes plz add this map to the next patch.
The last days we had every night very interesting 12Vs12 games running on some german server.people seem to like this map and its very playable before it comes to the 2 hours game time point :)
and yes its getting time for a map rotation function for the servers.

btw:when will the next patch come out ?

Yes! This map is so beautifully crafted, and really shows the proper potential of the Spark engine. Unlike the normal maps, I got a sense of which room was which, without having to look at my map to see which room I was in. I also found it easier to find my way around, as the pathing is bit more logical than the stock maps. Also the size lends itself better to larger games, had a 9v9 last night which was awesome

Also, map rotation and direct download from servers would be nice.

I clearly remember seeing those on both the technical tasks and gameplay tasks, but they were way, way, waaaayyy down on the list. I doubt we'll see either of these until we on "v0.9" (so to speak).

I agree about summit being official. Fantastic map, fantastic work. It definitely needs a lot more love and testing, but it is a damned good job thus far.

Since half of the servers are running this map(if not then at least half the ones with people in it). I really think it is time for it to be added to the next build.

Same as with tram or rockdown.

corridors? like NS2hd said in his video, summit is more classic NS inspired because of the room-corridor-room layout.
UWE went for the no-corridor map style with NS2, won't it be a thorn in the side for them to have most servers playing an old-style map (because its well designed)? Or will the inclusion of phase gates make corridor maps more viable?

Our maps have corridors, and fit the room-corridor-room layout (Rockdown doesn't really count). It was the corridor-corridor-small area-corridor-room-corridor-corridor aspect of a lot of NS1 maps that we were trying to avoid, where there was just such a large network of corridors that some of the maps became mazelike. The tunnel in Tram, while it may not seem like it, is basically a big corridor, and maps like our Docking map have plenty of corridors connecting up the rooms. The layout of Summit is not especially NS1 specific, its more the visual look and style of it that is.

I think what makes summit stand out is that the different rooms are visually very distinctive. Where on Tram for instance, there is a lot of similarities that can make it confusing room to room. Parts of the map blur together in my mind.

In NS1 maps (most of the time) there were vastly different styles for different parts of the maps. Not just architecturally but texture/color wise as well.

Biodome (i think that was the name) You had a lush green hive, a dark rusty, red hive, ect. It made the different parts of the maps much more distinct and easier to remember for me.

If I just close my eyes, the parts that stick out in Tram are:
    1) The hologram room (Marine Expansion)
    2) The server room
    3) Double res room (But that may be because I'm always there battling :P)
    4) The node w\ the big windows and awesome view, Observation I think

The rest of the map sorta blends together for me.

I really don't mean to be criticizing/bashing! These are just my observations :)
