<div class="IPBDescription">Is it cool?</div>I haven't yet played NS2 and was curious how people liked the all black armor? I was one of those who snoozed, and now I'm hoping they offer the armor again, as I'm waiting to buy the game until then. But is it worth it to wait?

    I'm pretty sure they said they will not be offering the black armor again. I'm also fairly certain they've said they will probably be looking at other things like black armor to run another promotion at some point.

    The black touch is nice, but I have to say, it's not for the onyx armor I bought it, but for the support. If they throw another promo at us, I'll take two.

    I totally bought it for the black armor and yes it is pretty cool, mostly on other people though as you don't see it on yourself.

    Not that I can really tell unless I'm looking though, colourblind, so normal marines look dark grey as it is.

    Black Armor is great. I purchased a few SE's. It ended up so happening that a certain friend who gave me the "I want to wait until the game is more polished" bit was extremely grateful that I had a spare. =D

    According to UWE It will never be aviable again.

    But I hope that UWE has some other special thingy ready for active beta players and supporters in the forum once the game goes 1.0.

    I don't believe we ever said that the black armor will NEVER be available again. Its conceivable that we may give out a few here and there as contests/promotions or something. However, there are certainly no plans to re release it at the moment, and it likely wouldn't be in any kind of widespread way like the original special edition deal.

    To be honest I don't care about the black armor at all, I got the special edition for alpha access and because it was more expensive.

    One (very minor) request: Could the marine standing around in the opening menu being a spec ops marine if we have the spec ops DLC installed? I'm used to that style of title screen displaying "your character", and so at first I found myself thinking that I had somehow lost my spec ops skin when I saw the default marine standing there.

    Love the idea and it would be really cool if there were slight variation skins/models other than the default or se that could be chosen. Clearly a feature like this isn't priority but something that would be interesting to consider for the future. Once custom content downloading is enabled, something similar could at least be done on a server running a few alt models to choose from.

    The beta ultra-special edition will garner marine plaid armor, with a kilt. Special abilities will include a bagpipe that repels all players (including teammates).

    To counter, skulks will be adorned with white wigs. While wearing these wigs, land around the skulk will be 50% less productive (for both teams).

    I'd feel a bit disappointed if they made black armor available again. Kinda feels like it would be a kick in the teeth as an early investor of the game.

    Don't worry guys, the smart thing to do would follow suit with other companies and release a "store" where you can buy skins for MACs, marines, aliens and structures so you can customise your character.

    I also would be disappointed if an early bonus (black armor) were made available to late comers. Another armor fine, but not identical to what we true fans of the NS franchise laid our money down for long before we had much of anything to even look at with NS2.

    In addition, instead of a skin bonus for aliens, it would be better to offer a USB driven odor emitter giving the player a real total immersion experience sense of what life around the infestation must be like. Then offer formulas such as 'gorge-funk' or 'what have you been eating' as tourny prizes.

    Fortunately, I already got it with the first.

    Giving out black armour as prizes or rewards is a fine idea. Or you could give them some other armour that isn't green or black. Hot pink seems to be getting a few votes.
