im just wondering, if they are already made, why have they not yet been implemented? and what version WILL they be implemented?

i can find the file Alien1.mdl, but no alienability1....??
there may be a lerk death animation....i find that annoying too...its the same with gorges.

From looking at the models for lerk, there's three deaths for each alien. Sadly, the Onos has the same death for all three. Even more sadly, the lerk has three as well, but two aren't even .. made yet. It's just one regular death, and then the other two are the lerk just sitting there. (Thus how sometimes you get a dead lerk, as opposed to a dead lerk that looks alive) So, ahem, two times out of three, you're going to get a 'live' dead lerk animation.

MenuFlamer must be flamethrower
MeduDefMatrix must be Defensive Matrix (as in Starcraft the Science Vessel can cast this on units)
MenuCameraTower may be some Camera Tower which u can see in a corner, like you see the map.
DefectMessageToLeader may be somet message u send to the commander.. not sure... at all <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' valign='absmiddle' alt='tounge.gif'><!--endemo-->
MenuPromote may be some kinda ranking system in the game, so you have leaders and officers or something
MenuBuyArmorLifeSupport maybe marines didnt have "Team" Resources before?

thank you dauntless, the "menu" part was confusing me a little, now i understand if you ignore the menu bit.
the camera thing souned cool, as well as the promtion system...its a shame they havent used most of the stuff in their folders....oh well, maybe they will use it in a future version??
these were basicaly like permanant scaner sweeps, it alowed the commander to see an area (including aliens and such)
I specificly remember hearing about this (It might have been in the old FAQ)
as for flame thrower

The idea is that Flay refuses to put it in unless he can make a volumetric flamer (basicaly it will expand in large areas and go farter in small ones, like a real flame)
it also would use the leet particle system ;D
All of these things are stuff I am pulling from memory of the old forums (pre release)
Actually, the bite animations <i>are</i> used in-game. It's just that the only time you se them enough to notice them are when everybody ischomping on a building with you. While inside the buildings, you will notice that no attack animations play, so it's not a problem with the animations, but with the buildings.
Also, with the lerk death anims: it's like with the flying aliens in HL, how you kill them, they play a looping anim as they fall, then finish dead on the ground with a third animation. I'd imagine this would work a bit different with a player like the lerk, and so it instead just plays the first animation, stays in the last frame(like death anims always do) and doesn't fall and play the second and third animations.
