From the beginning of Alpha i have no been able to play NS2 whatsoever. At first i wouldn't even been able to see the log in screen. Now in the beta phase i actually can join games and move around a bit in the ready room but as soon as i pick a side things go wrong. Usually it starts off very laggy then all the words on the screen turn into blocks that a blurry. A few seconds later the game freezes screen sometimes goes black usually any audio that i hear goes into a loop and i either have to ctrl alt del or steam shuts down the program. I am wondering if anyone else gets this problem and if its a problem on my side or the other side.

As far as my specs go

Nvidia 9800 GX2
AMD Phenom 9750 Quad-Core 2.4GHz
3 GB Ram
Windows XP

Thanks in advance :)

Have you tried reinstalling the game?

To be a successful programmer, it is of absolutely critical importance to know how to isolate your bugs. Showing me a fully working class and a giant, ridiculous string of else if statements gets me no closer to understanding your problem, and it also demonstrates that you really have no idea where your problem even is. Do you even understand the concept of testing? You could easy have used your other (not posted) class to test this one and verify that it works, BEFORE asking this question. Even if you can't figure out how to fix a bug on your own (which is fine, we all find ourselves in that situation sooner or later), you could at least show us the class that actually contains the bug, rather than some other irrelevant class.

::facepalm:: so many posts like this lately, i've lost hope in the average PC gamer /user. maybe consoles exploded for a reason. maybe most people should still stick with them.
i find too many PC gamers today are akin to a 12 year old girl with a mustang - they have no idea how any of it works and if it breaks down they just call somebody or buy a new one.

no offense OP, but there are sooo many things it could be. From the latency of the servers you join, to the video card you're using and its drivers, to the Operating system and its level of registry corruption to your hard drive to your NAT to your router ETC ETC ETC ETC ETC it would seriously take one of us a few hours of skyping with you to go down all the steps to eventually just recommend a fresh install of your OS. (and possibly windows 7 and a new video card) so just skip to that step i suppose. sry
