Betting they did a prototype demo of dynamic infestation and it escaped the computer and took over the convention centre. Now the CDC has locked down san franciso and the USMC is going to have to go in and fight the aliens.

It's a great time of year for us to take a step back and think about where we're going and think about games in a larger context than our day to day work and struggles. It was a total blast!
the most interesting part of games in a larger context i ever heard was from you charlie. believing that gaming could change the world.
have you ever written down your theory? i would be very interested in reading it, because i am in the gaming scene (and i was in the business too, by building up a gameserverfarm from scratch) since 1995 and it consumed so much time of my live :P
so i would be pleased to read more about it!

Did you speak to any other game developers? Markus Persson (Mojang) had done quite well in the IndieDB with his game Minecraft and he went to the GDC as well.
