also better walk button is needed. where holding the walk button meant you can walk on any type of ceiling without falling, current walk button doesn't do that. So while you may be being sneaky on the ceiling you end up falling off easily, pretty big issue for walk button.
M-wheel is too slow and cumbersome for me. Especially with NS2's strange implementation. If I wanna switch from rifle to axe, I have to wait for BOTH animations to complete. I would prefer a combination of numbers (no confirmation), and lastinv. Also, being able to switch without waiting for the current animation to complete is a must.

Because half the time when I click middlemouse, I scroll the mousewheel on accident, nulling the whole point of lastinv XD
How would you like it if your left-click existed on one mouse, and your right-click existed on another mouse, hidden somewhere in your friend's basement down the street? i.e. Macs. It's a user control issue. We shouldn't have to do hand acrobatics unless we want to. Also, I believe pressing 1 will not bring up the primary weapon, you have to also click, which is a problem - but I could be wrong, someone test this out for me.
The biggest issue for me right now for switching weapons is the animation completion thing. If for whatever reason you wanted to switch from 1 to 2 to 3 to 2 to 3 to 1 to 2 to 3 to 1 to 3... You would have to wait for 1's animation to complete three times, 2's animation to complete three times, and 3's animation to complete four times. Instead what it should do, is cancel the current animation, so you would effectively only have to sit through 3's animation; like how it is in every other FPS game in existence.

Sounds like you're fumbling with your weapons. Make up your mind which weapon you want! :P
I just tested the game, and couldn't find the problems you described.

Basically, can you confirm the following things for me: 1. Pressing a number (1-3) will switch to that weapon immediately, and does not require a confirmation click. 2. Switching from Rifle to Pistol to Axe (i.e. mouse scroll up twice?) right away does not require the completion of the pistol draw animation, and only requires completion of the axe draw animation.
I'm still kinda used to the oldschool kind of weapon inventory, where weapons were placed in ascending order from melee weapon over handgun to the biggest guns. In NS2, it's exactly the other way round, which makes absolute sense, given that it's about having a primary weapon, a sidearm and a "tool". Still, I always make the same mistake when changing weapons via mouse wheel and scroll down instead of up :D .

I'm currently missing it's presence.

With Games giving 10+ weapons, okay. But I end up using the mwheel instead anyway.

with someone coming from half life games.. i've grown dependent on this type of switching weapons.

Also what is wrong with using the 1-4 keys, lazy ######s (coming from someone who doesn't use lastinv :P)

on ns1, there was this option..
even on games like tf2, cs, ns1. you only get 3 weapons you can hold.. it still is an option to help.
this isn't that hard to implement.
