Hello,
I'm interested in the books I've seen in the NS2HD 119 video (<a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1_JH_fqPHP4" target="_blank">here</a>) because I've a game project. For me books are very important to know how other people design project: Code, engine, all. It seems that there are plenty of books in the background I can count 17 books and there are hidden ones ! I'm very impressed since I have only 3-4 on the subject.
Does one of UWE or Max or anybody list and describe these books, why are they useful, which is best and for what ? etc... So far I've seen :
- The Europe Project (???)
- Data and computer communications (?: William Stallings)
- Code complete (Steve McConnell)
- ??? the development process
- Game engine architecture: the essential of architecture design (?: Jason Gregory, Jeff Lander, and Matt Whiting)
- Full frontal PR: [not sure] Building Buzz About Your Business, Your Product, or You (?: Richard Laermer)
- Refactoring [not sure] (?: Joshua Kerievsky)
- Advanced A??? with R?? Tech??
- The C programming language (?: Brian W. Kernighan and Dennis M. Ritchie) [So why did they use C++ ? It's bad ! :P]
- Jomstick Nat ???
- Rapid development (?: Steve McConnell)
- The Art of Computer Programming: Fundamentals Algorithm (Donald E. Knuth)
- Anti pattern (?: William J. Brown, Raphael C. Malveau, ...)
- Object oriented ???
[Other books hidden]
I would really *love* if the NS2 team could comment these ! I'm interested of other resources UWE has used like internet articles (there are some very interesting) for example.
Here is the capture: <a href="http://img204.imageshack.us/i/booksn.jpg/" target="_blank"><img src="http://img204.imageshack.us/img204/4821/booksn.th.jpg" border="0" class="linked-image" /></a>
