Hi. Sorry to drop this post in but was unsure where to place it. I've just ordered a new Gaming Deluxe NS2 20 slot server and I'm interested in a manual/customising the server (primarily the welcome page but interested what can be done anyway).

Could anyone point me in the direction of a user friendly manual/feed in this? I've got the nsserver.txt config file from the install which lists a load of items but it mentions a manual which I've been unable to find.

    Right now there is little room for manuals outside of the wiki as things are subject to change on a build by build basis.

    As for what can be done with the servers, by all accounts pretty much anything as the servers are also LUA based, there is discussions about asking to include "pure" vs modded servers in the server browser as right now it's impossible to see what the server has running until you are on it.

    Thanks guys for the replies. Interesting info. I have something REALLY more important to ask.

    As I mentioned in the first post, just bought our own server from Gaming Deluxe (as they advertise NS2 gaming servers for hire). I went home last night and couldn't find the server in the list. After a few emails from the responsive support we still hadn't got anywhere (port moved as per dedicated server page).

    On looking around the files on the server, I've noticed that all the NS1 maps are in there! Can anyone tell me what would be in place for a NS2 server (surely they aren't installing all the old maps with NS2?)

    When I suggested that GD had mistakenly installed NS1, I got the reply, "I'll check our database as it's could be out of date" which doesn't bode well :-(

    I'd be really interested in what should be on the server (a screen grab would be great)

    Check out your local NS2 client folder, the server folder should look similar to that.
