This would be great for communicating with players/squads, for example.
# Letting a particular group of people know you are communicating with them - whips round the corner, current threats, you are going the wrong way.
# Letting people know where you want them, where you are going to build.
# Motioning to players the direction of threats. Such as Lerks in vents, etc.
So many times a marine is on his own in a room and i'm saying "he's in the corner, no above you, no the other corner, oh - you're dead."
How cool would that be? I think very.

Actually, a minimap 'ping' (in pretty much any RTS you can think of) which displays on marines' screens would in general be good, especially for commanders who don't use voice chat.
You made me think of another idea.
You know when you press your push to talk button and there is the persons name comes up on the left hand of your screen so you know who's talking?
(currently not implemented)
What if... when the commander is talking the marine logo comes up on the left hand side of screen instead of players name?
That way you know when the commander is talking and not have to memorise his name. And people can be quiet when he's talking :)
sorry for going off topic a little.
I've always thought it would be a great idea to have a blue (or TSA hologram) color glow from the ceiling or in that particular room to indicate that the commander is looking at that room.
Or to actually have the commander be a floating hologram which only marines can see
(and same thing for the alien team too)
