DI/Power and Whips/Turrets

Based on the gameplay videos i've seen it seemed like marines are only able to deploy turrets in their own sectors or powered sectors.

Meanwhile gorge's can drop hydras and whips at will anywhere.

Will this change with dynamic infestation? Or not? Because having one team only able to place turrets in certain sectors and then requiring them to be built while the other can basically drive by drop turrets anywhere doesn't seem balanced at all.

For Hydras, I am fine with them being placed anywhere (10 Plasma ain't cheap!)

Whips however, should probably require DI to grow, then maybe able to use Uproot to relocate and plant in to non-DI zones. It would make some interesting rush tactics for the Kharaa, and give Frontiersmen a chance to combat wave after wave of Skulks.

Gorges can't make Whips, for the record.

I barely know the difference between the two. But I know dropping turrets in an enemy base is nonsense

10 plasma not cheap??? Since when... I've seen a gorge drop down 30 of them in a marine base in one go...

Well... I don't suppose there'll be a max Plasma cap any time soon :P?

I think the cap is 999. I had that much in one game.
That was before the resource rate change, so it's decent right now. Once there are upgrades and the onos to spend stuff on, I don't think it will be as much of a problem.

I know where you're coming from but you can't assess overall balance from one game-play feature in a game as complex as NS.

Best to just wait and see.
