Shotgun

I don't know if it's just the bad registration/hit detection or the awful range of the shotgun but it is supposed to take 2 shots to kill a fade and I just played a game where it took at least 4 - 6. That's with more than one person shooting at them too.

Unless you hit him point blank and he was standing still, then I recall it did take roughly 4-5 solid blasts of a shotgun to down an upgraded fade solo. Sounds about right, but the hit reg might be influencing your feel of the game too.

Seems like a bit much to take them down with 4-5 when it only takes them 2 hits to kill you.

Your shotgun cost a lot less than his morph to fade. Assuming equal skill, one fade should beat one shotgun.

Pretty much this. One fade > one shotgun marine

shotguns have very very poor recoil, its almost easy mode aiming them without any recoil. Better recoil system needs to be added or adjusted differently, the one we see now in shotguns have very slight recoil.

guns need to feel real when shooting them!!
I also like to add the shotgun model needs to feel/look more aggressive, it seems very simple design.

No, guns have always had very little recoil in NS.

realistic feel of the weapon you carry is important. Shotguns especially require better recoil system than the current one we have - when shooting them they feel like rifles or any other weapon. And they don't honestly look like shotguns, you only notice them by hearing them.

Just because ns1 didn't have any recoil doesn't mean we shouldn't have any. I'm not talking about any huge recoils, but their should be better difference between shooting rifle and shotgun - recoil wise.

I got a suggestion making everyone happy. We turn shotguns into a magic glowing snowball the amrines carry, which when they squish (attack) magically creates several normal snowballs that fly in a spreaded pattern and dmg whatever it hits (magically). Sometimes it need to reload tho, so then the rine pick up snow and press it into the ball (like when you make a snowball). Ofc it could have a ammo counter floating inside.

I am actually kind of serious., its christmas...

    Ontopic:
Aliens regenerate, and a moving alien (especially one teleporting) requires some aimtime between each shoot, making them withstand more hits. Sgs also dmg less the further away your target is. It is also very easy some bullets miss.

All in all it is very understandable a fade can take 4-6 hits when it normally should take 2 hits.

It would be very unrealistic for nanite shotguns to have recoil.

If it should take 4 - 6 hits that's understandable. They just need to tighten the spread so that the gun isn't only usefull when something is literally right on top of you.

I know people are going to say... it's a shotgun it's not supposed to have good range.

I'm sorry but a shotgun should be effective when something is 5 to 10 yards away from you.
