HD 4870 X2 problems

I got my keys and it works, but It seems the shadows in this game don't go well with the 4870 x2 - I suppose this is attributed to crossfire?

I was wondering if there are any other solutions other than running in a window, Disabling catalyst AI doesn't do anything in fullscreen. I ask because when i run in a window it runs

a lot worse. Still playable, but I would prefer to play in FS, if not for the performance boost - but the flickering shadows make it hard to see things.

    Shadows are glitchy (flashing) with crossfire currently

    Yeah a lot of games has that problem, age of conan its a BIG example. Bad company 2 has some random glitchs with crossfire. Ironically there is games with a poor crossfire optimization which make the fps to drop (that's a bit ironic) fallout: new vegas it's a BIG example.

    Anyways to be sure that the problem its crossfire, you can try to disable it from catalyst.

    You could deactivate shadows until there is a fix by typing "r_shadows 0" in console.

    hi,

    just got the game today and its great.. been fan of the first one ..

    but i have the same problem as all crossfire users too.. what i noticed is that when i wanted to report the bug in the F1 section of the game i've seen that this has been reported more than 9 months ago and the bug is still there.. have the devs said anything about this at all ?

    They mentioned it, but it is not high on the programming teams priority list I think. It can be temporarily in most cased fixed by using

    shadows 0


    In the console. Currently the big issues are network/occulusion/overal performance related I think. That is in terms of engine design. Of course the artsy/gameplay/sound guys are also still working...

    yeah i know about that fix but the shadows make this game cool so thats meh :)

    edit: btw is there a way to disable dynamic shadows and leave the static ones? seems only that the dynamic ones are flickering..

    Unfortunately that won't help you - all shadows are dynamic (unless im horribly wrong)! :P
