<div class="IPBDescription">Autokill exploit!</div> You know that annpying azz thing when u lose all the hives it counts down and kill all aliens?
Well I just ran into a group of aliens who figured out how to beat the system
They saw they were gunna lose and they all split up and hid in vents
NO PROBLEM you might say.. autokiller will freeze em to death...
But the aliens all went Gorg and built DEF chambers next to themselves in the vents and they all kept getting healed
the beeping got so annoying I quit
It took like 10 min to find just one of em and blow em up
BOOO

you can still drop D chambs WHILE the hive is dying
It just totally takes away the comeback possibilty IMO, and not doing much of it's original purpose...
yes it can be annoying waiting as an alien to find a gorge sitting on an isolated d chamber but the whole kill all the aliens within 3s of last hive going down is annoying in itself esp. when a gorge has 50 rps and could get a new hive underway but for the kill timer...

bah u need a compitent COMM to sweep, the one who sieged their main hive left when game didnt end and kept beeping, he had no clue the gorges were just sitting there, like I said I only ran into this today it was totally new to me, it took me a while to figure out what happened
and yes autokill kinda sucks, but only because marines dont auto die when they lose CC
easily beaten when the monsters dont move. hehe
*edited the title bit, origionaly wrote Autokill instead of lamers.*
People only **obscenity** about the hiding but not the turrets because when the marines turret up they get to kill the marines lots which makes it 'fun'.
Just leave it as it is, if it takes the marines so long they get board and quit, they're not particularly effective marines.
Com should just go 'ok guys they've hidden in the vents and dropped def towers, please bring down the console type kill and you can all get GL and Jetpack in base, I'll be scanning for em and giving you WP.
The aliens won't win unless they can get a hive up. And you'll know the second they try because it stops beeping.
You are making a mountain out of a mole hill.
If aliens get auto killed, I think Marines should as well. A marine with jetpack can hide in 99% of the annoying places Aliens can. Plus they hide with NO sound, can't show up on any sort of Alien motion tracking, and don't have the regenerate sound Aliens do. I've had more problems with Marines hiding than Aliens in 1.03.
I have personally built around 15 defensive chambers from one end of the under water passage to another between Refinery and Feedwater on ns_bast. Our entire team hid down there, with the defensive chambers keeping us from drowning or dying from auto kill. Seeing a team full of heavies come at you with knifes under water, slowing drowning and dying from gorge spit was just about the funniest thing I've ever seen. Took them a good 10 minutes to find all the locations to Siege us from to take out the entire tunnel. Before I get flamed, this was a private game among friends, on a passworded server. =)
Motion tracking doesn't stopworking just because you went motionless, takes a bit of time. More than enough time for a _smart marine to look around for the blue circles, and head to where they disappeared.
Just get nearby, listen for the regen sound, siege, end problem.
And, if the aliens are getting annoyed at their gorge hiding, just have them F4. Once the marines have 5+ more players than the aliens, game ends.
And finally, _its _a _game. Go find another server if these people aren't playing the game the way _you _demand it be played.
In this situation, I'd ask the gorge to stop doing it, ask my team to F4, and then go find another server. Takes a few minutes tops, and I'm back in the game.
Find a server that warns you up front that you will be banned for it, and has enough admins to enforce it.
Its a game, not having fun? Find another server, works great for me. I change servers a few times a night normally, when I find my team doesn't have 3 collective grey cells.
I agree wholeheartedly.
And I've seen this tactic used to stay alive until they had enough RPs for a new hive. Its not always an exploit if they are using it to play the game the way it should be played until lamers made the dev have to code in autokill...

I think the auto kill is very unfair.. and is very very stupid. As a gorge can stay alive along enough they could maybe build another hive..
Anyways I think the auto-kill system should be on the MARINES since when they lose CC they have no way to build anything else.. STUPID DEV TEAM MODERATION OF THE SERVERS YARRR THEY EVEN MAKE IT WHERE THEY HAVE ICONS ON <i>ANY</i> SERVER!!!

I really do not think that sportsmanship is too much to ask, and I did not _demand_ anything of anybody.

I am also well aware of this. I was commenting on the need to beat it. Do not misinterpret my post and try and tell me "it's just a game". That only shows you did not comprehend what you read. I am also fully aware that it is possible to make a comeback when hiding in a vent; however, to hide for hidings sake just to see how long it takes the other team to find you is lame and extremely poor sportsmanship.
I'd agree if you changed this to, CC *AND* Infantry Portals. Hiding jetpack marines are way more annoying for an alien team than hiding, regenerating, aliens are for the marines.
In all honesty though? You should just have something coded so that the team with a bunch of dead, non-spawning players could vote to end the game.
NO! Let the server op's run their own servers the way they want.. gg.
So you make it a selectable option then so you can still leave your server open to hiding lamers. Point is, it's preferrable to any kind of an auto-solution.

If they want to run their servers the way they want, let them code their own damn mod.
it maybe easier to get 2 places to hide for aliens but TO hide for marines is easier especially if he has a jetpack...
preventing a comeback is kind of stuipid really... it needs 2 be if the server can predict if they can av a comeback like if they av no resource towers they are screwed really but if they do then obviously they can make on etc etc im too lazy 2 write anymore <!--emo&::asrifle::--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/asrifle.gif' border='0' valign='absmiddle' alt='asrifle.gif'><!--endemo--> <!--emo&::skulk::--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/skulk.gif' border='0' valign='absmiddle' alt='skulk.gif'><!--endemo-->
