<div class="IPBDescription">ns_battle</div> I was thinking up a map. Maybe, ns_battle, but have both bases right across from each other(not in siege range). All 3 hives in one spot giving each team 7 nossles each in their base. Have 2 main hallways 2 side vents and one small but long vent along the top from base to base. I think it seems like an idea <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' valign='absmiddle' alt='biggrin.gif'><!--endemo-->

    Nope, sorry, stupid maps can't ruin a mod.

    It's a fun concept, but the aliens would probably have a starting disadvantage. Unless they rush built. Then, the marines would get slammed if the aliens got fades.

    So essentially a map where the Marines win every time, eh?

    Because as we all know, Marines can outspawn Kharaa incredibly easily.

    Build a bunch of IPs - you get one Marine spawn per each. Kharaa are limited to one per HIVE.

    Now if they FIX it in v1.04 so aliens can spawn at a rate more equal to Marines it wouldn't be an issue and the map might be kinda fun.

    Stupid maps ruin a mod if half the servers are playing them because n00bs are attracted to stupid maps like bees to honey.

    The thing I like about NS right now is that it forces everyone to play PROPERLY.

    ctx: Why are you still gabbering on about awp_map? I used it as an example of a stupid, thoughtlessly made map that went against what a mod was painstakingly designed for, and yet held a death grip on a significant number of servers. You seem to be defending it now, which is really REALLY sad. Defending Counter-strike's awp_map in the NS mapping forum? SACRILEGE! BLASPHEMY!

    Well in the bases would be quite a ways from each other, and in that time skulks could hold their own, camp the 2 hall ways

    Then I think we should discourage such people from playing NS by discouraging such stupid maps. So far NS has done a good job of keeping out stupid people, I'd hate to see that ruined.

    Would you please quit complaining? Why are you trying to fight this 'anti-fun-map' war? It's stupid. Get over it, we should be able to create any types of maps we want. I know the guidelines explain how to create an authentic NS style map...but does is anywhere say we shouldn't make these types of maps? Even if it did, why hasn't there been any action on this forum against. (besides you and a few others)

    Anyways Ive had a similar <a href='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/index.php?act=ST&f=1&t=12504&hl=with+mapping+alone' target='_blank'>idea</a> that I think fits right in with the NS theme without being silly or "stupid"

    Also, Evol...the NS team decides what is acceptable. We will see several maps that fit right along with the NS theme and map GL and they will suck **obscenity**, they will be absolutely no fun and of course those precious few that will be incredible, one of wich just may be a "fun" map. The team will decide what is acceptable and worthy of official release...the fans and server ops will decide what is fun and popular.

    Not only should, but you CAN create any kind of map you want. Go ahead, map all the crazy maps you want, not like some NS map police is going to stop by and jack your computer because it's not atmospheric or fit in the "natural-selection mapping mission statement."
