Hey, UWE, in case you didn't remember it's not just the special editions who paid for this game, all us chickens want to play it to. I bought the game over a year ago and it's been updated regularily - for special editions. nary a thing for the normal editions. I'm sure I speak for alot of people when I say I'm getting tired of waiting. I'm sure that it also has to do with all the negative threads showing up lately. Now you're just ###### in our coffee because you released the beta, the CLOSED beta.

We paid for the game too. Release it already.

    I don't think 'I really want it' is grounds for releasing it.

    If you bought the special edition you get the prerelease versions, if you didn't you don't. Besides it isn't done, it barely works for prerelease people, it isn't going to work any better for you.

    What is the problem? You bought the NS2 standard for 19.95 right? The original text was:

    NS2 STANDARD EDITION
    $19.95

    Includes:
    -Full version when done (via Steam)
    -Access to beta and tools
    -Price increasing July 26th

    Are you saying that you haven't been given access to the beta?

    What is your point exactly? You said you didn't pay for the early access, but you still want the game, so UWE should give you the game.

    I really don't see what the point is other than 'I want it a lot so give me it'.

    You didn't pay for the version being distributed to the people who did, and the full game doesn't exist yet so you physically can't have that.

    A lot of folks paid for the early access, so I imagine some would be rather irritated if UWE said 'hey yeah we know you paid for it but everyone gets it now hope you don't mind!'.

    Besides like I said, you probably won't be able to play it, lots of people can't, some people can have a very limited game but most people simply can't play yet.

    Oh really? That doesn't make sense to me.

    I thought their beta announcement meant that standard edition players could play now. It doesn't make sense to me to just rename alpha to beta and have no real changes.

    Are you positive you can't play yet? What happens if you right click the game in Steam and click 'Play Game'?

    Read again, the STANDARD edition grants access to the closed Beta, while Special Edition gets Alpha and Beta.

    Preorder right now and get in before the seats are all taken.

    Hmm, the current standard pre-orders (more expensive) are allowed into the closed beta as well as the Special Editions, correct? Are the previous standard pre-orders not allowed in this closed beta then? That would be weird... But it did say beta access, not closed beta access...

    I don't see this thread heading anywhere constructive. Just to recap:

    1) Beta is now available for all pre-orderers (SE & Standard).
    2) Game is not ready for full release yet.
    3) Recent blog post detailing info about the beta:
