This game shoulda stayed as a Source Mod.

The engine is the worst, the game just looks so pathetic when you play it. It's a weird mix of looking like HL animations and graphics but with new shaders and lighting. The guns feel so floaty, light and the sensitivity is so high that even if you turn the DPI right now it's still too sensitive.
Just the worst feeling I've ever come across, even worse than Black Ops weak arse guns. Shoulda kept ot on Source and focused on the game, knowing that Valve has done all the hard work for you and well.
I can tell no matter how much work goes on this, cause of the engine this game will be fail no matter what. Also the character models are so generic and ugly, the latest trailer (which was a joke) just looked so bad, it was like watching that old CS video Clan Wars...

Lock in 5... meanwhile, get a life.
These comms, they will not heal.
Let me guess....
U play hardcore mode, aka noobs spray and pray 1hit kill, only. (Hardcore sounds like skill, and u heard other noobs saying it is...)
You dont like:
drop shots (because your reflexes are to slow to do it too, or you fail at aiming after doing it),
fast scopes (snipers are dead in black ops, of course only because u fail now doin it),
claymores (because u are afraid of using hacker perk, u secretly think perks > skill),
tubes/rocketlauners (only on others... of course)
perks (other ppl always got the better perks...)
some weapons (others always got the better weapons...)
You think every good player is a cheater.
Thats why u think about cheating every now and then, and maybe u already have sometimes in some games...
You are maybe also one of those guys flaming around in the steam forums, because they got banned... and didnt cheat of course.
Learn 2 play, stop QQing.

lolz!
-Use Source engine
Pick one.
We've already been through this many times on these forums. The cost for licensing the source engine would have been too restrictive, plus lots of features they wanted wouldn't have been possible.

After 5 months, unsuccessful troll is still unsuccessful.
On the other hand he managed to create a three pages long thread, so maybe this one should be locked asap
The mature response!
My only big gripe is with the Fade model.
Honestly I like the fade design in general, but I feel that he looks too blocky and geometric. He would look more primal if he were slightly sleeker. Also, his eyes make him look rheumatic; he almost has an "elderly" wide-eyed stare. His eyes should probably be more narrowed and angled. Also, his hoofs really aren't doing it for me. Something claw-like would really help the feel.
I get what you guys are trying to do by giving every alien structure/creature the feel that it's evolved from a "common ancestor," but I feel like sticking too closely to this has really compromised the vicious aesthetic of the Fade. I hate the phrase "exception that proves the rule," but I feel the Fade would benefit from going in another direction.
The sensitivity was high by default with my setup (default windows setting, 800DPI mouse), but it could be turned down sufficiently. I'm not sure what the problem is there. How does NS2 read mouse inputs right now? Is it direct input or raw input?
Getting a good 'feel' on the weapons is a nuanced challenge and every person has their own preference. Usually people prefer something punchy. The weapons seemed to be good for me. The shotgun sound is perhaps a bit too silenced, light and hydraulic sounding.
I'm not to keen on the view swaying. I'm a big proponent of having the camera stay exactly where you're looking. I always turn off camera swaying if it's an option. It's sickening if overdone, and distracting. I'm not sure I want to sprint as a marine... ever.
Skulk mini-leap FEELS broken. It needs to adjusted somehow, maybe change when and what sound is played.
Gorge heal spray sound has a heartbeat in it. I know this is to help new players understand what it does, but having the heart beat sound play when there's no actual healing happening is a bit unintuitive.
Fade blink can be disorientating. Everyone knows this and I'm sure it'll take time to get used to. But I'm wondering if the blink action shouldn't be a double click, but instead a hold and release. Hit and hold right mouse button to see where you're going to go, then let go when you want to blink. That's actually how I thought it was going to be. Just a thought.
In this case, they already have NS1 to define the feel of the game, so right now the focus is on getting the engine working technically, and as that becomes more stable and working they can focus on nailing the feel, which should be simpler to do since they have a well set reference to draw upon.
It's a bit silly to assume that the engine and feel won't improve over time, since it already has since the alpha first released. It may not be as improved as people want, but it's there.
It's also silly to assume that just because it stays as a source mod that the feel will magically be better. If you've played source mods, you should know many a mod can't even nail their own "feel" on that engine, or are limited by the way source does things.
I think the current developer focus on getting the engine running smoothly online, instead of nailing the final 10% of the "feel" (which can and will change during development) is a good choice.
I don't think that would have been entirely possible on Source; the developers had no choice about switching engines, it couldn't do what they wanted.
Like crap, but that's probably because it's barely half finished, things tend to suck when they aren't done.
It's really hard not to read it as a troll post, if only because anybody who played blackops knows that you die in less than a second from almost any gun. Seems like it's designed to simply be contrarian.
Graphically NS2 is fine, it has excellent art quality, the only thing it doesn't have is a million fancy ass shaders, but they can be added later. The actual models and textures are obviously of very high quality, and it's easily on par with, for example, blackops, or fallout new vegas, or unreal 3 engine games. It's not crysis but most games aren't, because only moon-computers from the future can run crysis.
