I can't tell if NS2 updated or not

Hey guys,

I bought the SE about a year before it went live and have been following UW through Twitter and getting info on all the updates. However, I'm just not sure if the game is actually updating because every time I boot up Steam it just sits there and doesn't update like my other games do.

Also, is my poor frame rate in-game caused by the game itself or is my computer outdated?

Running:
6GB RAM
2.4GHz dual core processor
nvidia 9800 GT
Win7 64-bit

    Your computer should be fine.

    Today's update apparently isn't out yet.

    I really do wish it showed the version number in the console, so we can know for sure.

    When rightclicking on the game in the list, go to properties and there to the update tab and check if it's set to "Always keep this game up to date"

    Thanks guys I guess the update just hasn't came around through steam yet? I assumed it would have silly me.

    Thanks for clarifying on my PC, but does the game still have frame rate issues because the engine is new?

    The game is still in Alpha stage. The engine is still being optimised to run on multiple different kinds of machines, so there will be performance improvements for sure.
