Looks like NS2 won last year, would be nice for it to win again this year, and give it some extra exposure.

Awesome. Not sure if I'll be voting for NS2 this time around, but I'll look at the candidates first then decide. Thanks!

Oh come on, Minecraft is obviously going to win EVERYTHING. Such an overrated game too.

I agree with this 100%.

Isn't this only for games that actually come out this year?

No, the prize for "best unreleased game," for example, can be won by a game that didn't come out this year, and in fact I very much doubt that a game that came out this year will win that prize.

Minecraft is pretty fun but yeah maybe slightly overrated and the replay value vastly diminishes unless you really, really like sitting there for hours laboriously creating something thats fun to look at (or in the rare occasion, actually use).

That's not to say the game isn't cool or without merit though.

I usually only play Minecraft during my let's play video's which have a vague release schedule of about one video each 2 or 3 days. They are around 15 minutes as well, so maybe that is the main reason I don't get burned out on Minecraft :P

For some bigger building thingies I do of course put in longer sessions (offscreen), but taking breaks from the game might indeed help. Just don't play it religiously!

To be fair, Minecraft works as intended. NS2 doesn't. Minecraft has my vote. (Although Amnesia came in at a close 2nd!)

I wondered what this minecraft is that everyone here is talking about.... and i found this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hBmUO5YUPyI&
So you are comparing THIS with NS2?
Guys, you're not serious.

Minecarts were only fixed 7 days ago to my understanding.

So as intended is a loose term :P

No thanks. I've been following interstellar marines for a while now and I still don't understand what their game is going to be when they're finished. NS2 is on a completely different level to all of those games combined.

I don't even think the developers know what the game is going to be. It seems like they're more concerned with "AAA Indie" than they are with the actual game.

Amnesia: The Dark Descent was really good. I watched my housemate play it for hours and it scared the crap out of me.

Amazing that it had an even smaller team than NS2!

As for Minecraft... It's not a bad game. It's just not for everyone. It's a lazy "relax and zone out" type of game. That and the paid version is a heap better than the free-out-of-date version most people play. I definitely wouldn't say its "crap" tho. Mundane, maybe.

Why is NS2 classified as an RTS? For the majority of players it's an FPS and should be classifed as such much like the RTS/FPS Nuclear Dawn. Why are people concerned with what game has their vote? There is no limit on how many games you can vote for at this point.
