Are the next few patches going to be all about optimizations? I wouldn't mind if you guys threw in a buggy, unfinished, random game feature that you are thinking about adding along with the lag fixes to test out :P

Speaking of progress in general I really suggest you guys start up the Cinematic Editor and listen to the audio.
For example there's the "fade_impale" sound (I'm sensing an unannounced ability), a new song (it's good!) and different "dsp_" prototypes on stuff like low-health, under the influence of an ability by the Shade-structure (most likely, I don't think it's passive at least), gestating as alien and even one for when you are spectating. It's cool I tell you :p
<!--quoteo--><div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'><!--quotec-->1: Open Launch Pad. 2: Cinematic Editor. 3: Click the small house-button in the top-left. 4: Locate the "Maps" and just load any level. 5: Click the small blue-dude in the upper left and place out an actor. 6: In the right column there's this button that looks like an document with a blue ribbon over it, click it. 7: "Add Sound". 8: Have fun browsing all the soundFX! Some of them are broken though, made my headset buzz like hell so keep the volume down, especially on the ones with aliens being in flames. P.S The new song is at the bottom of the list as well as the dsp_ prototypes.<!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd-->
Anyone notice that separating collision detection from physics on the server has been delivered? That's what was causing all the freeze ups after 8+ people joined a server, right?

separating collision detection from physics on the server has been accepted! :D. Man i hope they have fixed the freeze on join of game though, i cant play anymore because of this.. What happens is you join game, then it freezes in the ready room, sometimes you can walk around the ready room and it will freeze once youve chosen a team. Console opens and closes etc, i see the blips go up and down the rifle hud, but cant move or chat etc. Havnt seen it on the tracker so im a bit worried.. There seems to be quite a few people with the problem.
They are smashing it (MACHINES!), i'm sad that we didn't see a 153 patch, but hopefully they realize since they missed that build its important to get the 154 out to us before the weekend.
YES thank you! Would also be nice if the arms only came down when you activated it, not just by walking past it. The sound constantly looping because people are just walking past the armory can get a bit annoying.

Lol like for example the armory should be able to interpret if a person is simply walking by as opposed to staring at it and within a certain proximity.
Naturally because any number of nearby players can use the armory simultaneously, the crazy arms springing out become meaningless distraction, and yes the constant looping noise gets annoying much like other sounds in the game, i.e. the droning machine gun fire and skulk bite sounds.
In fact the only function the noisy armory serves is to audibly tell the aliens: 1) their is a armory nearby 2) their are marines near the armory 3) the marines and armory is on the other side of these walls 4) that sound is annoying yes? don't you have someone to kill? End the noise. You know you want to. 5) THIS WAY to marine start where there may be a defenseless noob using the armory in this approximate location within the room. 6) THIS WAY to super secret marine base relocate!!!1

lol, reminds me of listening for armory humpers in NS1. You know, the ones that spawn and fill up their entire ammo reserve, then immediately dying to an opportunistic skulk looking for an easy kill?
It should be changed so it only opens if you're in a straight tangent pointing at the armory maybe?

Hehe! *Runs off to try this before it gets fixed.*<!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd-->
Hey it's angular momentum dude. It's all about the realism. NS2 is actually an alien fighting simulation game.
So is the UI still being done in Flash or has an alternative method been found?
I wonder how far off a new patch is.

Given the rate they're smashing through those bugs (the game play side anyway...)
