Difficulty Killing Crouched Marines

<div class="IPBDescription">[Hit Box Bug] or [Need More Practice]?</div> I seem to be having trouble killing crouched marines especially from behind. This happens in and out of vents.
I have been playing NS on and off (The new patch for BF:42 is very good) so my skulk skills may have been fluctuating. I cannot be 100% sure that I am chomping accurately everytime but at the same time I don't think I'm bad enough to miss 3-4 consecutive chomps when the marine is crouched in a corner.
Whatever the case may be could I please get some confirmation as to whether crouched marines still have that hit box bug.
There was a great deal of debate on a server I was on last night about whether this bug was fixed or not.

Incidently, if the marine is not in a vent, you can always jump on their head.
[EDIT: God damn it to hell. This is crap. Would the dickwad who decided that cr-otch is a bad word when it's really just an area of the body, and a <i>strategic</i> one at that, please take cr-otch off the list of obscenities? And while you're at it, you might want to add hell, damn, crap, and dickwad <i>to</i> the list. ]
1) Can't get them in vents.
2) SUPER hard to get them while crouched.
3) Can't stand on their head get them most of the time.
I've even stood dead-center on a marines' chest and chomped twice at him before he shot me off dead. He didn't even sustain damage.
"- Fixed melee weapon problems in vents."
I haven't had the chance to veify if this is true in 1.03, but I can definitively say that killing crouched marines in vents sux0r in 1.02. Cheers!
If all our 'more passionate' words get censored, we're all going to end up sounding like bored robots.
"<i>Die, you alien bast</i><i>ards! Die!</i>"
is much more fun (and realistic) than:
"Cease functioning, you alien not-good-things. I do not like you."
You can't even say "<i>Natural Selection kicks a</i><i>ss!</i>"
C'mon... kids hear worse language on an episode of <i>Friends</i>. Sheesh.
Oh yeah. On topic:
- I've seen Skulks get kills where they normally couldn't after the 1.03 patch.
- I've confirmed a Skulk kill from below, on a ladder, and from behind, in a vent. <i>Confirmed.</i> And I'm not lying.
- There may still be some more obscure hitbox bugs, though. But hey... it all comes out in the wash.
Groin is the scientific term btw <!--emo&;)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/wink.gif' border='0' valign='absmiddle' alt='wink.gif'><!--endemo-->.
That's why I play lerk... that crouch crap doesn't work against lerk spikes <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' valign='absmiddle' alt='tounge.gif'><!--endemo-->

I seriously have bitten a marine 8 times in the legs and not killed him.
It also should be fixed and you shouldn't have to do some 'trick' to kill someone in the vent.
Thanks guys. Really appreciate your responses!
Every HL Mod I've played had hitbox issues and you know what, it doesn't matter. <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' valign='absmiddle' alt='biggrin.gif'><!--endemo--> You just have to educate yourself, find out exactly what the bug is and how it works. In this case you have to aim for the groinal area (....groinal?). Sure, to the naked eye it may seem like a disadvantage for the Alien player but this is what I've found... it's actually an <b>advantage!</b>
<!--emo&:0--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/wow.gif' border='0' valign='absmiddle' alt='wow.gif'><!--endemo--> What is this guy off his rocker you might be asking yourself?! <!--emo&:0--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/wow.gif' border='0' valign='absmiddle' alt='wow.gif'><!--endemo-->
I think of it this way. The marines have been crouching everywhere (Wise, makes you a smaller, less noticable target and now with this added bonus it only makes sense to crouch) it will soon become a necessity for Skulks to aim for the groin more and more. This added difficulty level will only hone our Skulking accuracy to a fine razors edge and when they fix it ((*EViL LauGHtEr*)) it will be a grand feast my alien friends, a grand feast. <!--emo&::skulk::--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/skulk.gif' border='0' valign='absmiddle' alt='skulk.gif'><!--endemo--> <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' valign='absmiddle' alt='biggrin.gif'><!--endemo--> <!--emo&::skulk::--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/skulk.gif' border='0' valign='absmiddle' alt='skulk.gif'><!--endemo-->
It happen once, remember a certain version when the alien players had to not only had to battle seriously loopsided numbers but overpowered marines as well. I came from that stock and I recall winning more then a few games with tightly nitt teamwork and decisive aggressive. That was just the way you had to play to survive and that is when aliens experienced how powerful teamplay can be.
I don't know, call me crazy but I see an advantage to all of this buggery... adapting to it has made me a better FPS player.
Hey, isn't that the beauty of the Mod Community? A release is actually a working beta that the fans and developers, in open dialogue like in this here forum right now, continue to shape and evolve their mutual passion with every version. It's pretty dang kewl. <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' valign='absmiddle' alt='tounge.gif'><!--endemo-->
I drawled a bit but I wanted to reaffirm my appreciation for NS and make sure this is not mistaken as a "Whine-About-Hitbox-Issues" Thread. I simply and quite bluntly wanted to know what the deal was, if something was up find out what I can do, and adapt my playing style.
Thazitbabymama. <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' valign='absmiddle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo-->
Again thanks for your responses, I learned something new! <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' valign='absmiddle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo-->
Now if I could politely request this thread to be locked so it doesn't turn into a whine thread that would be gooder. You know how it works you get that one post and then it snowballs outta control... Like the good little alien player I am I <b>rush</b> all my potential problems early in the game. <!--emo&::skulk::--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/skulk.gif' border='0' valign='absmiddle' alt='skulk.gif'><!--endemo--> <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' valign='absmiddle' alt='biggrin.gif'><!--endemo--> <!--emo&::skulk::--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/skulk.gif' border='0' valign='absmiddle' alt='skulk.gif'><!--endemo-->
