The alpha won't run? - Help

in NS2 General Discussion
Hi i bought the SE like 1 week before the alpha was released and i addded they key to my steam acc. When the alpha was realeased i downloaded the update/alpha ... and whenever i try to run it i get the error ns2.exe lol..... ive tried reinstalling from scracth (both steam and the game) have tried a defrag and i keep getting the error. All my other games work.
Would appreciate some help.

    It's alpha, might not run for some people.
    You aren't missing much, its far too laggy to do much more than you could in the engine test anyway.

    Just to make sure, check that it's not the engine test you're trying to launch. I think it has a separate key that may even still work although the game won't launch (you might have used that instead of the alpha key). Uploading a getsatisfaction issue/screenshot would be good, though.

    For the Alpha to run there is a second key, which is the black armor key and you need to use it the same way you used the other one. Once you did this you can start the Alpha.

    It is strange that you don't get any error message. Do you have the latest video card drivers? And DirectX?
    If you don't have an nVidia card with the latest driver you must install Physx, and is inside redist folder in NS2: steam/steamapps/common/natural selection 2/redist

    And for Max: is there a log file where all errors messages are stored? (didn't check)

    Thanks the Physx solved the problem.... i believe there are alot of ppl with this issue, maybe it should be better announced.

    Though the alpha aint rly playable at the moment x)

    Had the same problem, just update graphic drivers (newest PhsyX version)
