But they shouldnt be the sole class having the ability to build RTs. I can live with it if they become chambers exclusively, but they are unfit to be solely able to build the second most important structure for aliens.
Gorges lose their role, their meaning. We will see more fighters instead, yes. But no healers.

Baseless theorycrafting.
In any case, NS2 is not NS1. I thought this was already covered.
Will save judgement until we see more of the gameplay added and how things pan out, but do think some form of interaction between players and buildings should be kept even if it's just faster building times (with a slower base time) if players are nearby/assisting.
At the moment seems like all we'll be doing is following the MAC/Drifter to protect it.

Drifters certainly doesn't seem to be the right name for them now though.. slugs is more like it.

They look like those prehistoric crustation thingies. I did not expect this. Can we please have wonderful glowy floating drifters from the concept art?
And what happened to drifters floating out the hives and creating eggs? I never saw that happen...
I don't know what they've planned for the drifters but I kind of imagined them spawning sporadically and then floating randomly around the hive. This would solve "hovars without flapping" problem since they would always be moving, as well as the problem where a commander can spawn 1000 of them making the game unplayable (which is an issue on the marine side as well, but that's another thread).

The Drifters will glow. Currently, we still don't have the alpha sorting working in engine, so the outer semi transparent membrane which would expose the inner glowing body, is just opaque at the moment, and effects for stuff like glowing trails that they leave behind when they move aren't in yet.
There's also some various animations missing, and also the final implementation of their "building", which will have them land and turn into eggs which the structures grow inside. (the player eggs don't come from the Drifters)
There can't be a lot of random aimless floating on them, or too many of them, because they need to be easily selected and controlled by the alien commander.

Disagree a bit.
They could squirm a bit, or move within the AComm's selection hitbox (I'm using the wrong terminology, I know). Make the selection hitbox a bit bigger and drifters could do gymnastics (curling, flipping, twisting, tail chasing) inside the selection hitbox when idle. That'd be cute.
They could fly in tight helixes when moving by AComm's order. Drifters' animations could involve some visually appealing gymnastics to make them seem more organic and biological than the MAC build bots.
