Playing the Alpha with a reasonable FPS

<div class="IPBDescription">For those who have newer hardware...</div>Just wondering who is able to play the Alpha at a high resolution with a decent frame rate. What are your specs?

Yes, I know that this is an alpha but I would like to upgrade and make it playable (which it is not currently for me) so I would love to hear from those who have been able to play reasonably.

Also, anyone know the specs of the systems the devs are using?

    ati radeon HD 4870 1 gig ddr5

Average Framerate: 40-45 average, goes to 35 or 50 - 60 depending where I am

CPU is the best upgrade as long as your video card is decent. I tried lowering my overclock back to stock settings (2.8GHz) and it ran like crap. Put it back up to 4GHz and it was smooth as butter.

Get the fastest clock speeds and high bandwidth hardware; multiple gpus or cpu cores are not well supported yet. But of course, it's alpha, so you would be kind of silly to upgrade just to play an unoptimized alpha build.

Running a Core 2 E8400 @4Ghz with 4GB RAM and a Radeon 4850 on Windows 7 64bit Ultimate with a WD 1TB Black Edition drive. With a couple people in a server, I get an average of 30-40fps, with many dips depending on what's going on. Heavy action will drop it to 15-20fps. With more people, it's even lower.

    q9400 cpu, not overclocked
GTX260, mildly overclocked but not too much due to only using a stock fan cooler
    4gb of ram

Gets perfect 40-60fps at 1280x1024 all settings high

    I am running an
    AMD Phenom 9600 Agena 2.3GHz
    4 gigs of ram
    Geforce 9800GTX+
Vista 64 (desperately needs a rebuild)

it does not really like 1920x1080 very much at all
    at 1280 x720 i'm getting 10-20 fps.
Assuming the settings are all at high, but who know:)

There seem to be issues with sound caching thus the first time i play a sound on a load it drops to essentially zero while loading the sound off the drive.

Should probably just give up the extra space and raid 0 it
