My two keys don't work with steam, is there a third?

So on page <a href="http://www.naturalselection2.com/download" target="_blank">http://www.naturalselection2.com/download</a> it says to enter your engine test key into steam to download the test. Which by the way, doesn't work at all. "Invalid product code." So I get the new key, and yes there was only one key in the email.


"AXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX - (Look, one key)

This key has been generated for you and only need to enter it once to activate the Special Edition on your Steam account. To activate the game, select "Games/Activate a Product on Steam..." from the main menu in Steam and enter in the key."

Really? Because that doesn't do a damned thing but say "Please first activate the original game."

So apparently I'm supposed to have a THIRD key? Where do I find this elusive 3rd key, as the retrieve page sends me.... nothing!

If the answer is to wait and twiddle my thumbs, that's fine.

    No, there are only two keys. I was having this problem as well but I did the following and it worked fine.

    1) Deleted NS2 from Steam completely
    2) Restarted Steam
    3) Performed a fresh retrieve of my keys from <a href="http://www.unknownworlds.com/ns2/retrieve" target="_blank">http://www.unknownworlds.com/ns2/retrieve</a>
    4) Opened the Activate Product dialog and entered my FIRST NS2 key. Activated successfully.
    5) Opened the Activate Product dialog and entered my SECOND NS2 key. Activated successfully.

    It's pretty straight forward.

    Okay, I checked my emails and there is no third key, but you can use <a href="http://www.unknownworlds.com/ns2/retrieve" target="_blank">http://www.unknownworlds.com/ns2/retrieve</a> to retrieve your key, maybe it helps ?

    you get one key starting with Z for the NS2 engine test and tools (that's the real key)

    you get the "new" key starting with A for the DLC that is the Black Armor and Alpha Access (which is very amusing, because Renegade paid 20$ for a Black Armor DLC :P )

    there is no third key !

    You should activate with your first key to get the Engine test and after that try to start it, there will be updates (or if not go ahead and activate with the 2nd key) activate the second to get the alpha access.

    If this doesn't work try to standard magic: reinstall :P

    Mine starts with a B... "B701" is the first sequence. This key doesn't do anything with steam. It did work with the engine tools but I downloaded those from the torrent. Retrieve sends me nothing, so I guess I'll wait on that and see if it spits out a 3rd key beginning with Z.

    I think the problem here is steam not having the right set of keys.

    Sure, aside from the part where retrieve apparently sends me a new key, a 3rd key beginning with a Z, and that retrieve doesn't actually do anything -- yet.

    I'm capable of entering keys into steam.

    Well what do you know, there is a 3rd key. Finally got retrieve to send me something.

    Glad you got it working.

    You should have a GAME key and a DLC key (preorder black armor) in order to get into the Alpha.
