in NS2 General Discussion
soo far not too impressed by the game, though i have not played any alpha games yet, but from what i can tell, the game is already lacking soo much. I know its only the alpha, and there is much to be fixed and implemented, but from what i can see so far, the game does not or is not going to have the unique incredible game play of NS

please dont ruin such a great game

    You pretty much stated it there, it's only the alpha, the FIRST alpha build. Half of the contents isn't in there yet and half of it isn't working as desired. Remember this isn't like the commercial beta's where they almost give you a finished product to tweak, this is a real chance to shape the game to how it should be, because it really doesn't indicate the final product in this stage.

    I really hope people don't base their end decision based on an alpha... I don't think people fully understand what an alpha is and take it like a halo/tf2/whatever beta.

    Alpha and beta are completely different, don't think it's anywhere near finished.

    Are you really judging the game off an ALPHA release? as the dudes above me have stated it's NO WHERE NEAR completed, chances are the devs won't disappoint you, and many many things will change. The feedback we give now and the testing we do shapes this games future.

    If it's going to be ruined it's going to be by people like yourself.

    To be honest, I was expecting retarded lag and crashes and a metric ton game breaking bugs. Nonexistent hit registration and overpowered spores/grenades isn't too much. :p

    The core is there and I can see the game's going in a direction I like. I'm still not comfortable with the alien commander changes, but it isn't very hard at all to imagine this shaping up into a sequel worthy of NS1.

    It was pretty much as I expected it to be for a first Alpha.

    Just treat it as an opportunity to check out what stuff looks like and explore a lil.

    well what he means is not based on "how the alpha is running" it's more like "how does it feel to play ns2" and there is ineed a hughe difference between ns and ns2. But i like it so far.

    I personally would love more difference between Marines and Aliens. I like the idea of an Alien Commander but somehow it shall be different to the Marines, well i had some ideas i wanted to write down but who am i to say sth. like that xD - <b>anyway ns2 will be a really great game!</b>

    People really can't be this dumb.... can they? Everyone has already mentioned in various threads that what we are taking part in here is nothing close to a release model of the game. Pre ordering the special edition does not mean sweet sneak peak early game time.

    Ordering the special edition just means you helped contribute financially to the long term growth of the game and because of this, you were rewarded with the chance to help the developers piece together everything they have worked for and the community has hoped for.

    Alpha isn't pretty, man up about it.
