How to play the Alpha

<div class="IPBDescription">So I registered my key..How do I play the thing</div>Can someone please tell me how to exactly load the alpha. Because I still just have Natural Selection 2 in steam but no way to specifically launch the alpha.

I registered my key with steam and that added the Black Armour DLC in NS2 (which I can see by right click NS2 and click "view downloadable content"). It's there and it's registered. But when I double click NS2 it just goes to what I had before..

Someone please explain how to get into the Alpha.

    There are heaps of people on ....can someone please explain to me how to launch the alpha.. I've entered my code and registered the Black Armor DLC with NS2 - both codes have worked and are activated on steam - I just want to know how to start the game...can someone please explain..

    Well you haven't said exactly why you can't launch it so people won't know what to tell you.

    If you registered the key then why doesn't double clicking Natural Selection 2 and launching the game work?

    You double click "Natural-Selection 2" in your library. Then you wait for a menu to appear. Click "Join" and a list of servers will show. Click on the server you want to play on, then after selecting the server, click the button under the server list which say "Join <servername>". Enjoy.

    If I double click Natural Selection I just get the pre-alpha stuff... I go to create a server and it's still just Practice and the two test levels from when the tools were released...

    I don't know why I don't get the new stuff.. That's why I'm asking, "how do I launch the alpha"..

    Than update your NS2... if that doesn't work delte local content and download it again....

    I deleted local content and I've clicked install again (I just double checked the DLC is still active in my account and, yep, it's there). The download is basically the same size as before 1.5gb. I'm assuming this is right...

    Will post results.

    I did notice that when I activated the DLC code..Nothing happened. No new download. No update. Nothing. So maybe that was the problem?

    If you ran the game and it had the engine test content then you have not got NS2 Alpha. Do what the other person said and delete it all then download again. The new download replaces everything you don't have to do anything special to start playing alpha.

    When you activate the Special Edition code you will get a box saying you have Black Armor DLC.

    Yep, as said above, I'm doing that and there seems to be more content downloading. :)
