We're noticing you may need the latest DirectX 9 installed. Try running server.exe directly, without any arguments, and you may get an error related to DirectX.
I'm sure these problems are going to be resolved, because they <b>have to be resolved</b>. This is alpha, traditionally you wouldn't even get this with another game.
They need to remove the dx9/physx and steam being running from the servers dependancies (tf2 doesn't require steam to be running), but im sure in time it will be resolved.

I no rite? is like they tosed all this code tegethur at the last sekond and was like, hopink it would just kind of wurk, rite?
I xpeckted moar from my $50 perchase from a AAA devluper on a game that has been in the polising/relese cantidate verson for over 6 months now!
Alright, well I just put up another "Bad Skulk" running on port 27020. I can't join them so I have no idea how the connection is or anything. If people want to play around I'll leave these up.
The first one filled up almost instantly. The second one hasn't had a single person join. Might be that NS2 doesn't look on off ports.

Btw thank you Bry!<!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd-->
You'll need steam running before you run server.exe Just need a new account for the server, you don't need to use an alpha account.
Has anyone found a work around so we don't have to run steam? I like steam on a client machine, but not on servers, even more so when the servers are started up as a service & it can't see steam :(

Yeah the server freezes every hour or so at the moment anyway. It doesn't crash meaning tools like ServerDoc do not restart it.
At the moment I am running the physX and DirectX and Steam on my server just so I can provide some feedback and bugs to UWE.
I agree though final product definitely needs to be separate dedicated server files with better configuration details and no Steam/PhysX/DirectX reliance.

Specify an IP address for the server and people should be able to connect to it.
p ns2_tram -limit 8 -lan 0 -name "Dedicated to TNA" -ip 75.111.142.21
That equals <img src="http://img148.imageshack.us/img148/1071/captureti.png" border="0" class="linked-image" />
Am I missing something???
all i know i found in readme

-password [optional]
-save [1 or 0, or true/false] - (specifies whether to save out command line overrides - default is true)
Examples:
Server.exe -map ns2_tram -limit 32 -lan false
Server.exe -file "c:\my servers\config.xml" -map ns2_rockdown -lan true -save false"
I put my servers up and it goes all fine and it just says Local server started. annnnnnnnd thats it

So relax.
But I'm sure people have setup servers... as i've herd people have been playing it for roughly two hours+...

Let me know if thats actually working.
When I look in my steam browser all I see is Unknown for the client connections.

Looks fine. All those models are supposed to be missing for now.

Ours took hours to get going. Mrr.
