ExroathExroath Join Date: 2010-07-16 Member: 72441Members
Just had a thought :D It really shows how strong the community of this game really are ... the rest of the world is going mad about starcraft2 .. yet we're getting even more excited over an alpha! wow :D

I know its a long long long way off but any ideas for a collectors edition of NS2?

I'll play whatever gets released first, despite my long standing membership here.

And it looks like SC2 might come out first.

A collectors edition... that would be cool.... it should come with some sort of item.... like a baby plush toy gorgey! =D

  • FujinFujin Join Date: 2010-07-16 Member: 72462Members
Star Craft 2 is for BABIES! Ns2 is for REAL STRONG MANLY MEN WITH BALLS OF STEEL! And the special edition is like a collectors edition I believe.

the quality of the commanders for the alpha is going to be horrific since all the RTS players are going to be playing sc2

yeah I'm terribly torn. Probably wont be playing SC2 until tommorrow afternoon though, as my buddy's birthday is today and we're going out about 10-11. Still going to go try and get that midnight release at my local gamestop though.

In all honesty I'm much more excited about about the NS2 release, as I've had a much more personal experience with NS, compared to starcraft where I've just been playing the game on and off for years.

If there is ever a collectors edition and it does not include a gorge plushie, I will cry.

i was in sc2's beta, i couldn't stand the hard counter rock paper scissors system it had going. not to mention blizzard died when activision took over and are now on a crusade to make a facebook-like experience for it's players. noooo thank you haha.

Yes because Activision has a big hand in anything Blizzard does, except no.

I'll be playing both instead of whining about which is better even though one is an Alpha test version so it doesn't really count yet.

Starcraft was good for an RTS, but the only thing I really liked about it was UMS (Use Map Settings) maps, I never got into normal play maps. That being said, I think I will wait for some good SC2 maps to be made before I buy it, if I ever do, breaking up the campaign into 3 parts to be released at different times is quite annoying, especially with Terran going first (hate Terran), so theres little reason for me to buy it.

Even if I wanted to buy it though, I fully expect NS2 Alpha to be more fun than SC2, simply because RTS is not my favorite game-style.

I felt the same way. I was pretty amped for SC2 before I got into the beta.. Played around for a few days and decided it just wasn't a game for me. It's a fun game and all, but just seemed kinda.. I dunno, lacking I guess.

everyone can play a game which has been developed for more than four years and ate more than 100 million bucks!!!!1
(over two years of beta testing...)

we are playing alpha, hell yeah!

and if i should play sc, i will play bw instead of sc2. to much ######load @sc2... but i think i will play the sc2 singleplayer.
(blizzard aims at 1 000 000 000$ to make with sc2... so, this is much too much money at the wrong place... i will not support them to)

2500 pages and 50k replies in the span of three days about the most controversial thing they've ever done. and this is just the US thread. this is the work of activision not blizzard. they did end up scraping the idea of real life names on the forum though. the in-game version of real ID will still persist.

why do you say manly, do you mean to imply that we should follow socially-constructed ideals of "manliness" and that by doing so we become superior to those that don't? if a woman were to follow those standards she would be called out as a deviant, and i find your insensitive attitude offensive

It really cost them $100M to develop that game? Like I said it's a fun game and all.. But holy hell, I've seen much better games developed for a lot less money.

I blame old spice .. im sorry if it causes offence but .. after 2 weeks of watching parody's i really cant help it ..

I do however think your reading to far into things if you need to reply like that in a thread where the title is obviously done in humor.

No, like a collector's edition. I'd definitely trade in my black armor for a plush gorgie.

No I don't visit the WoW forums sorry. I'm not going through all of that but I highly doubt Activision has a big hand in anything, unless of course you can point me to something stating it was actually indeed their idea and it was forced upon Blizzard. Otherwise I'm sure Blizzard either came up with the ###### idea or they at least agreed to it.

I have nothing vested in Blizzard or Activision other than being able to enjoy a few hours playing a few of their games.

The CGI is probally what cost them, not the game itself. Grand theft auto 4 cost about the said to develop and look how much more ambitious and huge it is. Im an RTS player but I love NS2 much more than SC2

Anyone who says this knows absolutely nothing about Blizzard nor their product development process, and should probably stick to saying nothing at all instead of making themselves out to be ignorant.
