- Will servers be dedicated only, or can you create a game and have it be a one time server?

    1. We are providing servers for you guys to host. I doubt you will see any "official" servers
    2. Both, you can run dedicated (windows only for now, linux will come) or a listen server
    3. Well, we have over 10 000 pre-orders for the SE. Let's hope they all check it out!

    Spoke via email with the guys behind <a href="http://www.nfoservers.com/" target="_blank">http://www.nfoservers.com/</a> and they said they would be getting ded servers up for the alpha. So far, they're the only ones I've heard back from.

    So, in conclusion, host your own!

    The [NC] community is gonna be running a server, and will be permanent, and the owner is the guy who coded almost all of gmod tower alone so were gonna have sexy server stuffs from lua.

    BryNS will be hosting 2 servers proabbly a 20 player and a 16 player one.Myself and Perpetual have been working very hard to get a dedicated UK server up.

    If performance allows we will host more servers but, atm no-one knows how resource intensive it will be. Hopefully a lot less than the original

    Since I hosted one of the first NS 1 servers. [C.A.P] will have two servers online. More depending on the hardware requirements for each server.

    GN servers look nice, especially the price tag. I'm going to see what servers are up, etc, for the alpha and then get one if there is need. I hope GNS updates their site soon for NS2. I want to see the pricing / options for it.

    I had one of the first NS 1.0 servers up back in the day, so I'll be doing the same here for the alpha. I will probably be hosting 2-3 servers in NYC. Depends on CPU usage of course. I still remember NS 1.0, laggy ass servers :) till they fixed it with patches up to 1.04.

    1) We can start downloading before the rush.
    2) We can get servers up so that the fast downloaders have servers to connect to.

    There will be at least 3 maps that are playable with the release. Mappers should be able to get theirs (entity wise) up to a playable state in a few minutes too.
