Question about 1920x1080

I don't know if there's any topic about but well...

When i run NS2 Engine Test on my 21,5 monitor on 1920x1080 i can't see the marine's left arm holding the weapon while on 1280x1024 i can see it almost entirely.

Looks like when i improve the resolution, it zooms in instead of increase pixelation oO

Anyone had this kind of problem?

    Nope.

Why don't you just have it at one of the default settings if it works with that?

I don't now yet, but I wish it will be compatible with higher resolution than this.
Because I want to play with nvidia surround system (eyefinity)

I had a 15 monitor before, it ran on high and 1280x1024 perfectly, now as i upgraded my monitor i also upgraded my resolution to 1920x1080, wich is his default resolution, but it doesnt seem right on the engine test. Looks like the AUG zoom from CS1.6 oO

I can run that resolution fine and am not having this issue. Maybe it's your hardware?

well ill post some pics when i get to my house but just to clarify it

the only thing that seems zoomed in is the marine weapon.

in the 1280x1024 i can see the left arm holding the wep, but when i switch to 1920x1080 it just shows the weapon, seems like it "eats" a part of my screen and zooms on the weapon, its kinda weird, iil post pics when i get to my house

I would just chill for a while, if the alpha doesn't fix it you can report it as a bug but it might end up being fixed once the alpha comes out.

I´ll give this a try tomorrow, for me its important, because my monitor is 22´ 1680x1024. but i sometimes get the computer on the living room LCD TV, that uses 1920x1080, i´ll post the results tomorrow.

If the helps out at, www.widescreengamingforum.com has a lot of info on this sort of stuff. If a game doesn't support your monitors/TVs resolution, there is a utility that allows you to set the game to whatever resolution you want. Pretty cool.

Ok, i finished the testing, its a Asppect ratio issue. if you set resolution to 16/10 or 16/9 you cant see the marine forearm completelty and only the right thumb. but if you set to 4:3 then you can see the whole fore arm and the whole right hand.

I belive this is a FOV issue and might be already fixed in the alpha.

Hey i was just testing, its something to keep an eye out in the alpha as lastest screenshot also has this "issue". Besides, i still have 5 days i must find something to do before alpha comes out :)

And its not nonsensical noise, FOV plays an important role in any game, what you can see or not does make a diference.

Just trying to make a point that its something to look out for later.
