Female marines?

So, I recall seeing a female marine/concept art of a female in the black armor, waaaay back. I definately saw it 'cos i pre-ordered when i saw it.

Sorry if this has already been answered but is there any information as to whether or not there will be female marines in the game?

Really sick of male-dominated fps games. Boobs do not make you inferior damnit!

also hoep it will be sensible too. APB has all the female gear showing nothing but breastst, and nearly a third of the available clothing is lingerie :(


And i apologise for lack of any structure to this post, jsut got in from work.

    You'll have to wait for a dev for a definitive answer, but I believe that it will be the male model only for v1.0 release and then they are planning on getting the female model animated for a future release.

    What he said. They had the female model done, but then totally redid the TSA models and have not had the time to redo the female yet.

    While I understand it's not a priority, and I'm not fussy either.. I'd still love to play as a female marine.

    But gameplay and a smoothly running engine is far more important than such trivial matters anyway, at least for a first release.

    Yeah we started with a female marine but after we did the marine one much later we realized the female one wasn't up to the quality level we wanted. But it's a HUGE amount of work to do all the different animations so we're not going hold up v1.0 for her.

    I'm quite sure she'll make an appearance after that though (fashionably late?).

    Not sure how you would reconcile feminine walk cycles with marine walk cycles either.

    Men and women do move differently but I can't imagine what it should look like if women move like marines, probably confusing.

    Course you could always get a female soldier to do the mocap, which would solve the problem.

    Good.

    Games where the players move around funny just makes those games more fun imo. L4D, TF2, NS1, players look a tad strange and comical when moving in those games, but it makes boring things like running around with teammates just that little bit less boring.

    Given that she is training for war and has been through conditioning to move, act and fight a different way then she is used to the differences would be rather subtle but still exist. Shouldn't be too hard for them to figure out a good balance.

    Good to know they aren't just reskinning the male though.
