Great news guys! Here's to a 2002 repeat, good luck with the launch and I'm sure everyone will be right behind you with the feedback! (And let's face it, knowing this community the problem will be receiving too much feedback, not too little ;))

I think i read somewhere that the devs said this wasn't the final version of the "black" armor.
Having said that, it don't see much noticeable difference between the two, but LMFAO!!! the "special" armor now features splinter cell goggles, which means 2 MORE POINTS OF GLOWING LIGHT TO GIVE AWAY YOUR POSITION (and the aliens will be thankful :P). Hah some ninja!!!1 xD
NOOOooo!!! THE SPECIAL EDITION HAS A GASMASK!! AHHHHH!!!! :P

i hope they fix the way the lmg looks in first person view, its probably just the angle but the stock and the grill both look really strange, the way they are attached to the middle part of the gun.

I get your point, but that sounds like such an advanced strategy you would only see in private matches, which isn't the focus of NS(2), unlike CS, as far as I can tell. A mentally advanced public game a cut above the average blunt rampage match, in my opinion, still recognizes RFK as a factor which drains teamplay. I have played plenty of public games with people who actually put effort into teamplay despite not being in a private match and you would organize exactly one Gorge to receive the 50 additional per-cent resources from the resource pool distribution in order to create a hive or transform into a greater lifeform earlier.
(The plugin I mentioned did not only remove RFK, it replaced the resource distribution system with an older version, which would give Gorges a greater share of the alien team income. I am aware it sort of overthrows your argumentation. My bad for not mentioning it in the first place.)
Anyway, this strategy has the same objective as the one you explained. (Get hive/lifeform earlier) The line between private and public match is that in public matches people are generally being more selfish, which is like poision to the strategy you mentioned, but good for the one I mentioned, because people rather don't want to be the Gorge sitting around and basically just trying not to die until having enough resources.

You are aware that aliens don't need "2 more points of glowing light" to find marines in darkness, right? Supposing the flashlight is carried over.

I am looking forward the Alpha. I hope both of the commanders are including in the Alpha. Only a few more days now... Also, is the SwitchAx the equalivalent to the knife?

AAAA AAAAAA FINALLY!!! ! ! ! ! ! i'm not from the UK i just want to ask how many UK/EU servers there will be for the Alpha!
Am I right that there will be no linux build as of now? If yes, can we test it with wine? And if yes can we submit test results to the winehq? or is that permitted?

Haha, phew, so I am not the only one. I was really worrying about having to connect to US servers and putting up with 150-200ms.
I wish I had more upload on my cable (I highly doubt 768k would be enough for a decent sized game). I'd definitely host a dedicated server.
On that note, any idea what the server requirements will be? Specs, bandwidth required, etc?
