Oh, fun stuff. I'm in a (mostly) instrumental mood today.

First, Motorpsycho from one of their recent albums:

    Then John Butler's Ocean:

And finally, one of my own personal favorites, GYBE!'s Moya:

There's a sector in X3 called Black Hole Sun, which annoys the hell out of me because WHENEVER I see it on the map I end up with this song stuck in my head for about eight hours.

It also doesn't help that I only know the chorus, so it's just 'black hole sun, won't you come, and wash away the rain' over and over AND OVER AGAIN ARRRGH.

Renard. Just one guy. Not a studio production. A hundred different styles, ludicrous speed of production, probably the embodiment of love/hate relationship.

The single example is hard to come up with... So instead I'll post easily the most terrifying song I have ever heard in my life. If you don't feel a chill down run your spine, you're probably not listening to the lyrics. Which are kinda hard to make out.

Something about everybody being happy. If THAT'S terrifying, I can probably find a song about how everyone is going to be sad that will TURN YOUR SOUL BLACK WITH CRUSHING DESPAIR.

I, too, thought it was a lovely song until I bothered to make out the lyrics. Which isn't an easy feat here.

But that's a wonderful proposition, thank you.

This thread may be somewhat dead, but I still have to commend it for service to my music collection. Ahem.

Breaking Benjamin. Somehow I doubt it's the most obscure group ever - especially if you're a gamer - but I'm sure something rock-related very well should be somewhere in any thread about music.

In case someone has missed the indie giant Arcade Fire's live performances, they are worth checking out. Very much unique and awesome in their own way, in a love-hate way I guess. Some more creaky vocals, 8-10 people on stage (most of them multi-instrumentalists),, multiple variations of most songs and a huge amount of energy and enjoyment in music. Pretty remarkable stuff even on youtube quality. They're touring this summer, headlining some big festivals in US and EU at least.

Starcraft (Brood War) had some pretty amazing music, especially Terrans. This is a remix of the Terran songs, pretty awesome if you ask me although some people seem to like the originals better.
