<div class="IPBDescription">System Requirements inquiry</div>Hello all!

New to the community, but played NS many years ago. Figured I'd get my game on to get back in the swing of things to prepare for NS2, but had a question regarding system requirements for NS2.

What are they?

I checked the pre-order page and can't find them anywhere. Didn't see any topic in the forums regarding this either, so hopefully I'm not being a sore thumb. :-P Reason I'm asking mainly is because I have Windows 7 64-bit. I'm not that worried about Windows 7 support so much as I am of whether or not NS will run on a 64-bit system. I'm sure my hardware is up to snuff:

Intel Duo Core - 3.0 GHZ
Video Card: Nvidia GTS 250
RAM: 4 GB
OS: Windows 7 64-Bit
Motherboard: EVGA nForce 790i Ultra Sli

Any help is appreciated!

The current NS2 engine test build runs on 64-bit systems (Win7 here), just like most 32-bit applications.

I think the "quoted" system requirements on their website are very ambitious. Not impossible, but ambitious. I would argue it's safe to say if you have at least a decent dual core, 2+ gigs of ram and a discrete video card that is from at least 2006ish, you'll be fine. I'm sure they'll tweak things and make it be able to "run" on the bare minimum but with your system I think you can run on medium or high settings (didn't notice a whole lot of difference between the two) just fine.

neko_gunner, if you download the NS2 engine test to check how your computer's performance is and are awfully saddened by the results: don't be alarmed. The current engine test is very unoptimized, pretty darn buggy, and is giving problems even to those with some very awesome hardware.

But yeah, as far as system specs go I think Rehnquist above me pretty much nailed it.

Very right on that one; I have an i7 with an ATi Mobile Radeon 5870 and 8GB of RAM and I can barely get a decent framerate on this thing, versus Crysis which I can get ~27 fps with High settings.
