Can someone tell me the limit of e-poly's I should use to make my dropship model?

    Spending a great deal of time and energy on a dropship model or prefab is hightly discouraged due to the fact that the team may (or may not) come out with one of their own. You wouldn't want all that effort to be for nothing if they request you only use their model to keep a sense of consistency througout.

    Diddo on Ken's remarks. It hate to see someone put a lot of time into something that has little chance of being used.

    But if you're sure that is what you want to do, all the info you'll need about modelling for HL can be found in the HL SDK. I suggest starting there.

    Edit: I'm not going to tell you how many polys to work toward. I will remind you that poly reduction can make nice models for low-poly applications. Don't be afraid to model above typical limits and then scale it back.
