From memory Prey had portals and had gun play shooting each other through them but they used actual poly base bullet or some thing like that since hit scans don't work on shooting through them. Portal is a good example of dynamic portals
but how you make game give you the the suspension of disbelife with whole tunnel system will be up to UWE
eg how do you explain a tunnel system on a suspended platform or how you you can walk a few steps to the other side of the map that would normaly take awhile etc.

What was worse was the TR-Ground Pounder(lol imba dual grenade launchers... the real noobtube that started it all PC game wise) at the games launch.
I admit, I abused that for awhile. Kind of the reason I joined the TR, the fast firing mass army faction.
