    So, I ended up winning all the placement matches and now I'm in the platinum league. I expected to get my ass handed to me all the time and I wasn't dissapointed, although I have won a few games.

    If you want to team up or humiliate me, add Retales.retales (Euro).

    I've still got a Steam key for Football Manager 2010 I can swap it for.

    blizzard's really milking the false shortage paradigm, huh. Give out just enough keys so people will talk about how awesome the game is, have fans slowly spread keys to each other... it's the same way gmail took over as the email provider of choice...

    They're more doing it so their servers don't all die in a fire. Which is a distinct possibility considering Starcraft.

    Indeed.

    Also, artificial scarcity only works for a little while. I'm sure they're also trying to avoid the problem many indie dev teams do which is release it to too large of a market, accidentally find a crap ton of bugs, get bad press, no one ever comes back even after the bugs are fixed.

    Since I don't even have time to finish the games I own, I've avoided trying to get into SC2 like the plague.
