<div class="IPBDescription">any chance I can get a new torrent?</div>Hey guys, after about a week of downloading at 1~4 KBps I've finally got the editor (thanks to devnulls torrent!) but now after playing around with it, I am itching to get the updates (137?) my internet out here is, well, barely internet (and at $70 a month it's a crying shame) but I was wondering if there is a way to repackage up the install with the updates, or even just to make a new torrent with the updates or something? Hope to be killing you guys again soon ;)

    Sure, if say the US decided to up and let my unit leave Afghanistan early, after we've only been here 5 months now ;)

    Any ideas or responses? Hell i wonder if it's possible to just zip the folder with updated info and torrent that? <3 to anyone that can help :)

    Is it possible to put the updates in a torrent and if I do will your internet take 3 days to download them or just an hour or so?

    I get a max of 20 Kbps, but usually 4-12 Kbps is the norm. So even if the updates only add 180 MB (which I think is probably compressed) we're looking at about 4-5 hours. A day is more than likely. If you can't keep it uploaded for that long then don't worry about it friend :)

    I'm assuming one would have to zip up the entire NS2 folder for this to work since a bunch of stuff in the root folder also gets updated. Unzipped that folder takes up 1 gb on my hard drive, zipped it's at 329 Mb. I could upload that to a personal website of mine that should be pretty fast for you since i live in Holland which is quite a bit closer to Afghanistan than America is :P (7.500 Miles vs 3.300 Miles)

    I'm downloading the editor install file again to update a new install so i can see if the updates themselves are executables that you can run individually (The editor updates automatically and i already have a fully updated install) and if so I'll upload those for you so you can download those.

    I just noticed the install file i just downloaded is already an updated version 137, so i cannot upload individual updates :( I'll see what i can do with the new installer. Unless someone on the UWE staff could enlighten us on the server adress where the editor gets it's updates from.

    One thing eludes me however, why not just run the editor while you are connected to the internet? Surely autoupdating would be faster than downloading an entire new install?

    it's not speed, I don't care about that. Even if I were to download less than .5kbps as long as I had the ability to restart the download. As it is now, I can download the updates but when (not if) my connection dies, I have to restart lol.

Leave a comment here and i will pm you with a direct download to the file or you can just download the torrent. I will seed for as long as i can this weekend but it will get less after monday.     Also, could anyone confirm they are actually downloading atm? my utorrent isn't showing any seeding activity.

    I reinstalled utorrent because it wouldn't upload even though i have forwarded the needed ports.

    It should show a seeder now.

    EDIT: Currently seeding to a single user even though i have my utorrent set for 100 seeders per torrent :/

    It's an io-global user, which is satellite internet so i assume that's you boobs? Speed is jumpy between 4 and 20 kbps.

    If you have a forwarding address I have no problem with packaging up a CD for you with the original install file and my own folder contents to quickly get you up to date. PM me if you want to do so.

    I'll leave it seeding untill you are done then. If anyone else is still downloading to seed it afterwards you can remove your download. Speeds seem to be good as is.

    EDIT: glancing over the upload speeds over the past few minutes i understand what you mean with jumpy internet :P
