I'd assume there has been a list drawn up for people such as yourself who have been positively using the Spark editor, to be included in such an early test.
Edit:
I'd also assume it doesn't go on first come first server as that's a pretty bad way to go. You want to choose people in your community who will give feedback. UWE know who these people are and I'm sure you'll see a huge chunk of the active forums able to participate in these initial tests.

I'd sure be glad to but I doubt it, and I don't really mind if they don't. But they are surely looking more into a variety of computer systems to test the engine than active users. .. or both I guess, hehe.

Well, if they work as they have been with the other tools, the report logs are auto-sent to them cause you need to allow internet port. The users just need to actually run the engine often enough I guess.
so, uh, maybe i'm missing something here. is there actually a specific group of people who will get access to the engine test depending on when they got their key? i'm a bit concerned since i got my key on may 28th and i'm very interested in playing around with the scripting tools.

Anyway, for other people freaking out about the order of admission, take a deep breath and think silver lining: if they're testing the engine and network in a small group, they're obviously close to a wider release.

Over 10,000 people pre-ordered Natural Selection 2. We don't want to be overwhelmed with bug reports so we're starting out small.
^ So, if you want positive and quick feedback you'll hand pick the smaller people in your active community that are proactively using the tools and have experience with the team previously then roll out on the basis the e-mail says. Otherwise, you could be wasting a lot of time initially.

Well than they can just disable the bug reporting for the people outside the test group? :D
I just want to see the engine run on my PC, that's all. And i'm not even expecting much, just want to have a piece of NS2 on my PC :D

I think he meant the <b>"We'll be granting access to players in the order that they pre-ordered."</b> bit.
