Keeping Your Team.. On The Same Team?

here comes a big finish to a game. How can you assure, on a pub server, that your whole crew gets on Marines, or Aliens - but all together? Too many times I am my three friends all go to the Marine portal, and after two of us go in, the rest are forced alines, or what have you. Is there a reliable way to 'wait' for a new game in the RR? (i.e. does waiting by the alien join gate for 'Team Two Won The Game' work?)
