Reddit.com is a news site where people submit content in hopes that other 'redditors' will read and comment on the submissions.

QUOTE

What use could this have?

This was inspired by the success of reddit.com/r/tf2. [6,169 subscribers]
This sub-reddit resulted in Reddit's 3 vanilla tf2 servers spread evenly across America, a European server, two fun servers, and a private server used to play fun mods and hold tournaments in.

If you're wondering, it was Reddit team member Dr. Chris Slowe himself who gave to me, in allowance, the creation and moderation of this NS2 oriented news medium. (I think he did it using magical powers he gets from his Harvard-earned PhD in physics.) Quoth the Popenator, 'Chris said "Fixed.", and http://www.reddit.com/r/ns2/ was good.'.

Too lazy? Real men sign up and grow the fabled double-beard, have women flock to them, and become extremely wealthy entrepreneurs; in that order. Maybe you're just not up to the task.

    I don't get it... so it's a digg wannabe?

Digg, while quite popular, is obfuscated by advertisements. Reddit addresses current events so thoroughly that it has been monitored by CNN.

    http://www.reddit.com/r/pics/comments/axe7..._quoted_on_cnn/

Also, reddit gives a better 'community' vibe. Reddit's gaming community is going strong, hosting many game servers to accommodate its large community.

Also, reddit kicked diggs ass in the raising money for haiti competition (Reddit: $178,030.93 Digg: $4,136.00)

I hadn't known there were so many redditors on these forums. [6 subscribers!]

I don't have all the time in the world to spend sifting through the forums, so it'd be awesome if we got more people contributing to the NS2 Reddit
(it's also great publicity- Redditors are often willing to spend money on active communities)

I'd be damn appreciative of anybody who posts stuff like links to maps being developed on these forums, as well as updates made to the status of NS2. Reddit's also a great way to find out whether or not people like an idea you have- they're more willing to click an up arrow for agreement and a down arrow for disagreement than to discuss the topic.

    Last Bump.

I found the same thing, but there is a solution! Register an account and change the subreddits that appear on your frontpage. I did and now all I'm subscribed to is environment, gaming, science, technology. Problem solved.

    rsd is 100% correct.

just remove the reddit.com reddit, politics, atheism and pretty much any popular reddit. The quality of discussion on the less visited subreddits is still up to scratch.
