I was just sitting here eating a chocolate cookie from subway being amazed by how soft/chewy and delcious it was when I started thinking:
<!--quoteo--><div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'><!--quotec-->I am surprised by how soft and yummy this cookie is, I was expecting it to be hard like a rock.
Well, rock cookies might not sell as well so it would be advantageous for Subway to make good cookies.
Wait, maybe I'm the minority who likes soft cookies!
I wonder if they did any market research on this subject before they decided to make their cookies chewy...<!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd-->
So, now it has come to you. Time for some impromptu market research!
What is your favorite type of cookie, both in kind, and well-done-ness?
My favorite, if we don't include milk, is a nice warm soft chocolate chip cookie with melted chunks.
If we include milk... I'd be more likely to go with a warm chewy oatmeal raisin cookie because they dunk so well.

The old trick with tim tams where you bit open each end and such the milk through was a favourite when I was a kid

What are tim tams?
I taught the same trick with twizzlers and soda to my girlfriend (she's 24) over the summer while in a movie .
Are you anti-cookie?
We don't have much activity in these here forums, and I thought a thread about cookies is just what we needed. Now it's your turn--give us opinions on cookies so we can discuss further.

Seconded.
There's a place in the queen street mall in Brisbane called Mrs. Fields. I suspect it's a chain store and that even a perfunctory google search would confirm that, but anyhoo.
They make soft chocolate fudge cookies that I would kill several people to obtain, if necessary.

Hell yes, you've inspired me to go into the mall after uni tomorrow and get a cookie from there.

You have to find a place that cooks them well, usually a place with high turnover that doesn't package them in plastic.
And by cooks them well I mean barely melts the chocolate so you left eating pure chocolate chip dough of win. Oh mah gawd my mouth is watering just thinking about it.
Hm. a bit too much chocolate for me. I'm more either a straight choc chip/chunk cookie person. Needs at least some non-chocolate to help bring out the awesomeness of the chocolate.
I've only had a few really excellent oatmeal cookies. However, they were indeed awesome. I think most people make their oatmeal cookies too dry/sweet for me. Ah my fickle tastebuds.
Any way, back on topic, I I second the notion that hot out of the oven cookies rule. Favorite cookie: <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Snickerdoodle" target="_blank">Skickerdoodle</a>.
Heh, glad you enjoyed/enjoy it.
I've been in a silly mood lately (if you noticed my other thread entitled "Earth, Wind, and Heart in NS2"...), and I felt I must share my insanity with others so that we may all enjoy it together.

I definitely agree with you. Dry is bad for oatmeal cookies. I love them chewy and not too sweet. Makes the milk go all the better with them. The only thing that beats out oatmeal cookies for dipping, in my world, are Oreos... Double stuff, with the creamy sides from two cookies stuck together into one quadruple stuff cookie. :D
wat :(
