I don't know if the idea as been already dicussed or not. If so, sry.
I think the gorge should have the opportunity to help the infestation by spiting on ground and walls near the border of the dynamic infestation.
My vision is that the gorge should be some kind of architect, like the aliens in the "aliens" movies, drooling on wall to create a semi-solid substance for heat and camo perpose.
This should reinforce the insect-like society feeling and the technician role of the gorge.
