<div class="IPBDescription">help with NS</div> Im new to NS, just got it and i dont know how to work it, i try the tutorial, it leads me to a dead end in a pipe, i try the half life game with the mod, the train stops, its dark and i cant do anything in the darn thing. i have no clue as to how to get it to work online??? do i need to download anymore things??? can some one please help me and get this game running, looks pritty amazing to me. Oh when i try it, it sends me to CS...very odd, plz help

    umm...im unsure if what your doing. If you have installed natural selection all you have to do is click on the shortcut, or activate it through half-life or CS. And to go online, just go to internet games. Im really confused on what your problem is.

    the eye, use it if you feel like it (it is not that hard and is good at filtering)

    as for HL controls
    this is not a single player game, so don't try and run it like one (you will get funny errors like you described)
    don't use the short cut (I don't know if it is fixed or not yet)

    simply open HL
    get to internet games
    click,

    There is a filter bug in NS right now... here's how to fix it:

    Half-Life thinks Natural Selection isn't installed, and NS doesnt appear in the dropdown list in the filters section, so you can't play...

    The Natural Selection desktop shortcut is bugged. You can fix this problem by deleting it and using the shortcut in the start menu, or by starting up regular HL and selecting Natural Selection in the custom games menu.

    Another reason for your problems running NS might be this:
    The <i>desktop link</i> that comes with NS is <b><i>broken</i></b>. So basically
    you should use only the links in your start menu.

    Or you can launch Half-Life and then start NS by selecting it
    through the 'Custom Game' menu.

    is this what your shortcut target looks like?

    C:\SIERRA\Half-Life\hl.exe -game ns -noipx -nointro -console

    right click on your desktop shortcut, go to "properties" and make sure it looks like the above, only if you installed NS in C:\SIERRA\Half-Life\

    this works for me
