Yet again....
So, Steam has done it again and is doing their Holiday sale. Except it's a bit early this year.

http://store.steampowered.com/

There's a bunch of stuff discounted in general until Jan 3rd, but there are also a set of games each day, on rotation, just like the Thanksgiving sale.

Enjoy!

Nope. There's a 25% discount on L4D2, and I bought a 4-pack which resulted in a reduced, ~28€ / head cost. Shame my laptop is still being a worthless heap of junk, so I can't play it too soon.

No that was Steam itself! It's stupid I know. It's because they have their automated system now where as before you always had to manually input it.

Got meself Torchlight and Shattered Horizon for like 5 bucks each. Both are really good.

If you haven't tried SH, you should hurry up. It's only gonna cost 5 bucks for a couple more hours.

if you've already beaten it on the console like me, I recommend just cheating with console commands on the PC to max out your level and stuff. I didn't have the patience to play it through 2 more times on the PC so I'm just cheating myself some xp and paragon/renegade points and beating it once at max level so my save is ready for the sequel. Now I only have to beat it one more time!

I'm having a lot of fun with it. It's pretty much what you'd expect - funny dialog, neat visuals, fun if a little repetitive combat, and pretty short. I wouldn't pay full price for it, but definitely sale price

So what did everyone end up with? I got:

- Commandos 2: for nostalgia. Played 5 mins, wil probably never play again. £2
- World in Conflict (and the expansion). A good team-based RTS hampered by low population. Worth the sale price. £10
- Civilsation IV (and the expansions). Bit of an impulse buy, trying to slog through the glacial early game pace, failing so far. £8
- GTA IV. Had no interest in this but some buddies on Steam persuaded me the multiplayer is ace. £5

Total = £25

All in all with the Steam sale, I haven't checked my statement yet but I spent between £140 and £150. I only know so because my bank asked me if someone had stole my card, I said no.

I may have gone a little overboard with the sale..
Torchlight
Trine
Mr Robot
STALKER Clear Sky
Burnout Paradise
Defense Grid: The Awakening
Red Faction: Guerrilla
Morrowind
and Borderlands DLC: The Zombie Island of Dr. Ned

Glad I got most of it at 75-80% off.

I was hoping for a little price drop on MW2, but no luck... or did I miss it? (I'm pretty sure I checked every day..)

I got defense grid, it's a pretty sweet little game.

That makes my third steam purchase in 2 months where I otherwise would not ahve gotten anything.

Mass effect: 7,5$
Kotor: 2,5$
Defense grid: 2,5$

BTW, for the Civ4 people, I highly recommend this mod:
http://forums.civfanatics.com/showthread.php?t=171398

Behold civ4, but in a fantasy setting with magic, dragons, sinister goblins, global events, the coming apocalypse.... you get the idea.

Here's my list of purchases:
Braid
Darwinia+Multiwinia
Trine
Mr. Robot
Killing Floor
Lumines Pack
CoH: Tales of Valor (just to complete the set)

Items gifted to me:
Torchlight
Osmos
Braid
Universe at War
Sword of the Stars

Almost purchases:
EU3
Heart of Iron 3
Crysis Pack (mostly just to play Mechwarrior: Living Legends)
Prey (curse you running out of keys!)
