<div class="IPBDescription">at distances</div>In NS1 if you heard a fire fight around a corner the weapons were pretty much the same sounds and if you got to a certain distance you couldn't hear them at all. I really like what half life 2 did with their weapon sounds, like if you were far enough away you would hear the muffled echoes of the rounds. Since pretty much all of the settings are indoors I think it would add a deeper ambiance to hear fainter gun shots/ voice coms/ and alien screams from a few corridors and hallways down or through doors and stuff like that. The visuals make up a huge part of the game but the audio plays just as big of a role in creating a tense atmosphere. thoughts?

I wonder if DI areas could have a lot less echo. It could create quite an unique feel to the rooms.
Maybe like a muffled sound?

You could get a much better idea of where sounds where coming from and how far away they were.
