Event Horizon

I think I'm on to sumtin...
I think someone should make that Event Horizon map... that would be the creepiest map to play on. I don't know how you could really get it to completely work and be balanced and whatnot but everybody seems to be pretty creative here. God, I wish I new how to map but I haven't the time to learn.

Consider this, it could be great with enough time put into it.

Just think about a hive area in the gravity core thingy.... how freaking awsome is that??

Hey man. About not having the time to learn. It really doesn't take that long to learn and you can actually start your map before you know everything. Just work on it a little at a time. I am about 30% of the way through my map and I have never mapped before. I just end up going back and redoing small sections as I learn what looks good and not so good. Lol... I had my first room down before I even knew how to connect a button with a door.

    Just give it a shot.

I think its too small(the ship in the movie), and very unsuitable. I mean take that long corridor, thats the only path that connects the two parts of the ship. That core-thingy also only have one way in and out. Sorry but I dont think its a good idea unless you remake the ship completely, and then it wouldnt be the ship in the movie anymore.

Someone's already started a map themed on the film Event Horizon.

The corridor thing is pretty easy. Just shorten it, add tipped over crates and busted up floor panels for cover, and put one hive at the end. As long as the fore section is bigger, you should be ok.

Just go to the pinned threads at the top of the mapping forum. They should give u a link to Worldcraft (free). There are also links to some mapping tutorial sites.

I watch the movie over and over and over. It is my favorite movie.

Every room in the ship as more then two entrances or exits. The ship is also huge. If you paid attention to the movie, it was practically the biggets ship made (that being the primary reason for searching for it). This would be a great map , considering it would sort of match it (not the people who try to eat each other.. :o ). Its abanded, creepy, has that creepy green light, anti-gravity, dead bodies! Poked out eye-balled women! What more can there be !

All that chit chat = Do it!

Btw, that Gravity core had at least 2 walking entrance/exits i saw, plus the one (or multiple) crawling 'computer board' holes, and with a jp, you could go above the core. Lots of detail. make it! or i will...

What about the ship in the movie Alien? That was a cool ship Since they really dont show much of hte ship in the movie, you can elaberate. They do have up and down, corridors etc.

The Nostromo (the ship in Alien) has been done and done well (NS_Bast). Ever wondered why there were NS textures starting nos_ ? That's why.

Is it really Nostromo? I thought Nostromo was that ship where they ate dinner in that dining room, and had that first experiance with the alien in that guys stomache. And that cool round white room where they had meetings.

Sadly none of the white rooms seem to have made it into Bast

The hallway leading from the airlock to the refinary seems top be the nearest we got.
