Xenocide, Too Strong?

<div class="IPBDescription">now that it works again in 1.03</div> I was playing a game last night where the marines figured they'd be tricky and block the kharaa's entrance into the base with command centers, which were constantly being welded by the 6 marines in the base while they were waiting for enough resources to try and break out. I tried twice to blow up in their base and failed, and then I got really mad and just blew up next to their infantry portals.. All of a sudden, "ha ha, good game" was typed and I found out I had obliterated the IPs. Granted, they did rebuild one, but another one of my "skulk bombs" pretty much took care of that.

Is this a good thing? It took a lot of finesse (I don't like dying, even as a skulk, and it took 3 tries to get it to work right), but should anything be that powerful?

    the respawn points we're probably already abit hurt, but yeah Xenocide is extremly powerful but you only get it when you have 3 hives so its designed as a game ender.
    Also you kill yourself, so its not like a bile bomb where you shoot 3 or 4 then wait for your energy to come back.

    Its a very good thing to add to a character with hardly any hp and virtually no armor (cept with carapace.) A skulk vs HMG and HA equals one dead skulk, but sneaking up or using cloak to hide and then letting lose with that deadly little lvl 3 weapon makes every Kharaa's day. <!--emo&::skulk::--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/skulk.gif' border='0' valign='absmiddle' alt='skulk.gif'><!--endemo-->

    Wouldn't it be cool if marines could blow up too? Its one thing to see an alien blow up, but to see a marine run into a hive and blow himself up, I think I would die from laughter.

    Not really u av to get a 3rd hive to get it up and then blow urself to pieces losing 1 kill on ur score so if ur a glory hog wanting aload of kills u need to get a big group unless ur a team player goin in to destroy urself likes its meant to be implemented.

    Three hives. Marines have lost. Xenocide is a quick way of cracking the turtles shell at their last base. A few Xenocides against the TF and then everyone just moves in.

    Beats waiting 15 minutes just to take out the last base with Bilebomb, wait for energy, Bilebomb, wait for energy, Bilebomb, run to defense towers. And I love the kill scroll on the right side of the screen. The best places to Xeno are by Armories and IP's.

    3 skulks could probably cripple a marine force through xenocide, even if they had really turtled up. Then all the fades could mop up.

    It takes 3 point blank xenocides to take out an IP. The range on it really is huge though by the perimeter, it's only doing 25 damage or so. Only thing though, is it doesn't work like grenades. If you don't normally have line of sight on a target, it takes 0 damage. It seems to work like TFC grenades, not CS grenades..which is fine for me.

    Again, whoever holds 3 hives is obviously the winner. Whatever the power of the weapons at the disposal of the dominating team is irrelevant. They've already won. Let's hurry up the round so we can get on with a NEW ONE!

    Aliens need a tactical biological nuke-like aim-through-100-feet-of-wall missle launcher once they get 3 hives, so the game can end even faster ;p

    The other day the aliens had taken out the marine base on Caged and they only had two people left. Their last two marines were hiding and taunting us. Then, out of the side of my eye, I saw two marines up on rafters staring at me. They weren't going to shoot and give away their position, so I acted as if I didn't see them. Then, I activated Xenocide and leaped right between them. That was the funniest end-game ever.     HA HA, good luck for the aliens to get 3 hives. just got back from a stretch of gaming... how come it alweays leaves me incredibly frustrated? People would have the <b>audacity</b> to suggest that the aliens are overpowered? scoure count: aliens 1, marines 4 for today.

    this game is so full of inequities, the more you think about ANY aspect of this game I can tell you how the marines dominate. omg...

    True, 3 hives doesn't mean victory for the aliens. When they get 3 hives quickly, it is usually at the expense of getting resource nodes, and none of the attack aliens have the resources to turn into the higher class aliens for awhile, giving the marines some time to get back those hives. Also in situations like this, where the aliens make getting 3 hives ASAP their top priority, they usually ignore building up good defence in their older hives, making the marines job easier.

    But in the case of Xenocide being too powerful, I would say no. That would be the same thing as saying that Bile Bomb or Ohnos are too powerful. All of the level 4 alien abilitys were designed to make the marine's lives hell, which they should be at 3 hives. Sure, marines can make a comeback, but that all depends on the quality of the marines on your team. Is it just me, or do most marine players start to panic once the aliens get Fades? This always happens, a Fade will be spotted, and then most of my team will start saying things like "GG" and start whining about aliens being too strong. I have won tons of games after aliens have reached this point, but I also lose a fair share because of noob marines thinking the game is over the second the aliens have anything more powerful than skulks.

    haha, once the aliens see the first HMG kill, half the team says "gg." I've never once seen the marines say "gg" upon seeing a fade <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' valign='absmiddle' alt='biggrin.gif'><!--endemo-->

    Xenocide is just fun.

    I saw a group of four marines headed to a hive once: three Light and one HA. We had three hives at that point, but I didn't want to risk losing one, so I lept at them with a xenocide roar ... and killed three in one fell swoop.

    Without his backup, the HA limped around the corner and was torn to pieces. That was hilarious.

    if you don't use xenocide BECAUSE you lose a kill you should be shot. many times.

    the GL is of equal power... It can now easily destroy aliens and structures...
